Happy International Dance Day šŸŒšŸ’ƒšŸ¾

For Africa, dance no be just movement… na how we talk without speaking.

Different moves, different steps-but it always shows where you come from.
Today, let your body talk.

Our culture isn’t just for festivals or photos.
It’s in how we greet, speak, eat, and respect elders.
If we don’t live it daily, we’ll slowly lose it.

It’s scary how easy it is to forget…
You move to the city,
you start speaking differently,
you slowly drop the things that once defined you…
Until one day, you can’t even explain where you’re from.
Culture doesn’t disappear overnight…
it fades quietly.
Are we losing it?

Your language is part of who you are.

Stop speaking it, and you slowly lose pieces of your culture.

Some things just don’t hit the same in English.

One day you might not even fully understand your grandparents.

That’s how it starts.

Stay rooted. Speak it. Pass it on.

Your language is your pride, not your shame.

Most people get this wrong about Africa
Africa is NOT a country… and it’s definitely not one culture.
Africa is home to over 3,000 ethnic groups and more than 2,000 languages.
That means the way the Yoruba people dress, speak, marry, and celebrate is completely different from the Maasai people or the Zulu people.
Same continent.
Thousands of cultures.
So next time someone says ā€œAfrican cultureā€ā€¦
Ask them: which one? šŸ˜‰
