My people, many today no longer understand the deep importance of Igo Ofor, especially on the sacred market days of Eke, Orie, Afor, and Nkwo. These are not just ordinary days for buying and selling; they are spiritual pillars that guide the rhythm of life in Igbo land.
Igo Ofor is a sacred act of truth, prayer, alignment, and communication with the ancestors, the Earth, and the unseen forces that protect the family and community. In ancient times, our forefathers never joked with it because they understood that a man without spiritual alignment walks without direction.
