My marriage has lasted more than 50 years, and people call me a good family man. My wife and I joined broadcasting the same year. She later went to study law and returned. In all those years, nobody has come to beg me to stop beating her, because it has never happened. I never learned that from my father.

A man should be able to pick the bills in his home. I have never asked my wife how much she earns or what she received as gratuity. That is her business. When you go to pay bride price, the father often returns most of the money and tells you to take care of his daughter. That trust is sacred. You must honour it.
