GEOGRAPHY OF AMUNDI
To be able to understand the geography of Amundi we need to address some issues about the name.
THE NAME ‘AMUNDI’
All this while we had existed under false name. The colonialists were full of cunning and goatish tricks, they devices a secret plan to enable them have their will. This was the era when European slavers were aboard African, plying us with meaningless names under the guise of putting down African names into writing for the first time. As a result of this Africa was on pains, dine punishment for they discovered that what they deal with was a monster with a tail and a horn, in fact an imp! Their real interest was identity theft. And the perpetuators swore by the bones of their mother to keep this secret until their last days.
To tell ourselves the truth, what does Amundi mean in igbo-Nsukka parlance? we know not. They choose to corrupt the real names of our ancestors, ‘Odeh’ in Ode-na-Igbo, instead of Ama-Odeh they wrote Amundi. Names of early Amundians confirms this fact, beginning with the first amundian Pa Ezeugwu Jerekpe held the title “Odeh” which means the vibrant one, or he reigns, the one who reigns. He stands as the first generation Amundian. His son’s Chief Ezugwoke Odeh, Pa Aroke Odeh and Pa Ugbojioke Odeh where the second generation Amundian. We will continue the list from the lineage. The next was Chief Ugwu Odeh and Chief Ugwu onugwu Odeh, the later was also known as Chief Atamah Nwamba.
When our ancestors found out that they could not escape they rescind to the fate, for they found the new tongue a slattern. After revealing to the Europeans what they shouldn’t have, they regretted their actions. How long will the mother land survive under false names. To give their hoax footing they documented this secret into history books. By this Africans lost their power of speech, and they told us it was civilization.
