One of the ways is to speak the language to them and teach them how to respond.

Oh, you might say Adéọlá, they will learn when

they grow up, but I want to tell you that not

everyone has the natural aptitude in learning a

language when they have grown, this is why

you will hear some people say I have lived in

this place for 20 years but unable to speak the

language of that environment, while some

people will just live for months and they will be able to speak fluently. .

A child can learn as many languages as

possible when they are still young.

So speak your dialect, language to your child,

let them also learn the language of their environment..

A code is a language,

Code - mixing (mix English and Yorùbá) is like this
1. Gba biscuit ẹ - take your biscuit
2. Báwo ni school---- How was school
3. Daddy yín ti dé - - - - - - Your Dad has arrived
4. Gbé bag yẹn wá - - - - - bring that bag.

And code switching (speaking Yorùbá purely)
Lọ jẹun---- - - - - go and eat
Kí lo fẹ́ - - - - - - what do you want
Kíni orúkọ rẹ - - - - - - what is your name?

Gradually, they will be adapting.
