✍️To Creative Artists...
..So last night, I was invited to this Event and based on the information I got, twas a "Dancers" something and it would last till Dawn.
I agreed to attend on the ground that 'I am not going to do anything' and I dressed anyhow based on twas late/night and what I wore didn't really matter cause I had plans to just go and sit.
Now when we got there, everything was different, a lot of people both black and white, those with class and those my level 😅.
Lo and behold, it wasn't just for dancers and I immediately felt uncomfortable 🤦 cause I was dressed extra casual with my Crocs that I wear only indoors 😂
There was this guy there that got a contract with Desperados just cause of his Appearance/dressing and I was like Omohhh... Just for wearing clothes and looking really nice😐 Nawa oo
So why am I saying this? Most Dancers, or Creative Artists that we have in Nigeria have the habit of going to events, programs, concert and the likes dressed anyhow. We say we feel free in dressing just anyhow... Osheyyy Freedom ambassador😅
Sometimes, all it takes is packaging 💯
Some certain or specific kind of people won't approach you cause of how you look/are dressed.
You might be at the right place at the right time but not get that thing you've been praying for just because they don't see you presentable or worth it Because of how you're dressed.
You'd be given that RESPECT if you LOOK RESPONSIBLE 💯
Dear Creative, Don't use anything as a leverage to why you're not dressed responsibly at any point.
Tryyyyy🙌
Know what to wear/how to look for different occasions 🧎
Even if you don't have enough clothes, BE CLEAN and SMELL NICE ALWAYS!!!💪
I've learnt💯
You should too❤️
