Marry Someone You Can Talk To
Marriage is more than sharing a home, paying bills, or raising children together. It is sharing your thoughts, your fears, your dreams, your disappointments, and even those little things that happen during the day.
Marry someone you can talk to—not someone you are afraid to speak with.
Someone you can tell, “This thing you did hurt me,” without being shut down or mocked. Someone who can listen even when they don't agree with you. Someone you can laugh with, disagree with, apologise to, and still feel safe enough to have another conversation.
Because there will be difficult seasons in marriage. There will be misunderstandings, financial pressures, family issues, tired days, and moments when both of you will see things differently.
In those moments, communication becomes a bridge.
Don't just ask, “Do I love this person?”
Also ask, “Can I talk to this person when life gets difficult?”
Beauty may attract you. Chemistry may excite you. But the ability to communicate, listen, understand, and resolve issues together can help keep a marriage standing.
Marry someone you can talk to—not just someone you can fall in love with.
