Africa's creative economy is entering a defining moment.
For generations, African stories have inspired the world. The next chapter is about creating the institutions that will finance them, protect their intellectual property, empower their creators, and ensure greater ownership of the value they generate.
On 29 August 2026, FlickFunds Africa, in partnership with the Sierra Leone Film Council, will officially launch Black Genesis in Sierra Leone—bringing together filmmakers, business leaders, policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders to explore a bold vision for the future of African storytelling.
This is more than an event. It is the beginning of a long-term ecosystem designed to unlock opportunities for filmmakers, creators, strategic partners, and investors who believe Africa's creative industries deserve sustainable structures, global visibility, and responsible investment.
We are honoured to have respected industry figures Nobert Young and Naomi Kay join us as our Founding Patrons, lending their experience and credibility to a movement committed to shaping the future of African cinema.
If you believe in the future of African stories, African talent, and African-owned creative institutions, this is the conversation to be part of.
