Africa's creative economy is entering a defining moment.

For generations, African stories have inspired the world. The next chapter is about creating the institutions that will finance them, protect their intellectual property, empower their creators, and ensure greater ownership of the value they generate.

On 29 August 2026, FlickFunds Africa, in partnership with the Sierra Leone Film Council, will officially launch Black Genesis in Sierra Leone—bringing together filmmakers, business leaders, policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders to explore a bold vision for the future of African storytelling.

This is more than an event. It is the beginning of a long-term ecosystem designed to unlock opportunities for filmmakers, creators, strategic partners, and investors who believe Africa's creative industries deserve sustainable structures, global visibility, and responsible investment.

We are honoured to have respected industry figures Nobert Young and Naomi Kay join us as our Founding Patrons, lending their experience and credibility to a movement committed to shaping the future of African cinema.

If you believe in the future of African stories, African talent, and African-owned creative institutions, this is the conversation to be part of.

Africa has never lacked the stories.

We have the culture. The talent. The history. The creativity.

What we are building now are the institutions that will take African storytelling to a truly global stage.

Today, we officially open the investment journey for BLACK GENESIS™ Sierra Leone—a US$13 Million creative investment initiative by FlickFunds Africa, developed in partnership with the Sierra Leone Film Council.

This is more than the financing of a film. It is the development of a long-term African intellectual property, designed to support world-class production, strengthen Sierra Leone's tourism economy, create employment, develop creative talent, expand international partnerships and deliver value across the creative ecosystem.

We are inviting strategic investors, institutional partners, governments, members of the private sector and the global African community to become part of this historic journey.

The future of African storytelling will not only be told by Africans—it will also be built, financed and owned by Africans.

Africa has always had the stories.

The culture.
The talent.
The history.
The creativity.

Now, Africa is building the institutions to own them.

Today marks the official digital commencement of BLACK GENESIS™ SIERRA LEONE—a bold Pan-African film and creative investment initiative by FlickFunds Africa, developed to bring together filmmakers, investors, governments, strategic partners and cultural leaders around a shared vision for Africa's creative future.

Beginning in Sierra Leone, this is more than the launch of a film.

It is the beginning of a long-term movement to elevate African storytelling, strengthen the creative economy, showcase Sierra Leone's tourism potential, create opportunities across the value chain and demonstrate what becomes possible when African stories are supported by African leadership and global collaboration.

We are equally proud to introduce our Founding Patrons, distinguished leaders whose experience, credibility and commitment reflect the vision behind this initiative. Their support reinforces our shared belief that Africa's next generation of globally recognised intellectual property can be built from the continent, by Africans, for the world.

From today until our Official Investment Launch on 29 August 2026, we will be unveiling the vision, the partnerships and the opportunities that will shape the next chapter of BLACK GENESIS™ SIERRA LEONE.

We invite governments, institutional partners, investors, development organisations, members of the private sector and everyone who believes in Africa's creative future to join us on this journey.

The story has always belonged to Africa.

Now, the future of that story belongs to those willing to help build it.

Most creatives don’t lose because of talent—they lose because of structure.

Ideas are created, but without ownership and protection, value slips away. Globally, strong systems secure the work—and that’s what attracts real investment.

This is the gap we’re closing.

Meet Nosakhare Uwadiae, Esq. — Co-Founder, FlickFunds Africa.
A legal strategist with 30+ years’ experience in IP, contracts, and investor protection—ensuring creatives own, protect, and profit from their work.

Because in a real film economy, ownership is everything.
