KOSISOCHUKWU IBEMESI CONGRATULATES MAYOR OF OYI LGA

The APGA candidate for the Oyi State Constituency election, Hon. Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi, "Igiligi Aku," has congratulated the new Executive chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Hon. Elochukwu Igbem, on his inauguration yesterday. In his message, Ibemesi described the emergence as a significant moment for the people of Oyi and a fresh opportunity to show capacity.

"I congratulate Hon. Elochukwu Igbem on this well-deserved feat. Oyi is our home, and we must all work together to make it better," he said. He added that the inauguration marks the start of a new chapter for the local government area, one in which leaders must put the interests of the people first

Chief Kosiso Ibemesi urged the new Mayor to lead with humility and transparency, noting that the people of Oyi have high expectations for good governance, improved infrastructure and a stronger sense of responsible leadership. He stressed that the Mayor's success will be measured by the visible impact of his administration on ordinary lives across the communities.

He also assured the Mayor of his readiness to work together for the common good, stressing that politics should serve the people and not divide them. He wished the Mayor a successful tenure and prayed for wisdom and strength as he begins his service. Oyi will be better!

CHIEF KOSISOCHUKWU IBEMESI IS APGA'S CANDIDATE FOR OYI STATE CONSTITUENCY

The party has released the names of its candidates for the State House of assembly elections, and Chief Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi, (giligi Aku), is the APGA candidate for Oyi State Constituency.

The decision of the party is the will of the people. Anyone who believes they can undo that decision through noise, propaganda, fabricated graphics or sabotage is fighting a lost battle. The strength of a party lies in its ability to make decisions and stand by them- The party has chosen "Igiligi Aku" Those who are unhappy have every right to their feelings, but they do not have the right to attack the very platform that gave them their political voice.

If you are still in the party, respect its process. If you can no longer accept it, the honourable option is to step aside and leave, not to fire arrows from within the house you still occupy.

So to the good people of Oyi, this is the call: stand with the party, stand with the candidate, and stand for the progress of your constituency.

To our beloved people of Oyi, the recent judgment from the High Court is not the end of our story. A setback in one arena is not a defeat of our cause. We remain resolute in our conviction, and we are confident as we proceed to the Court of Appeal, where we believe justice will ultimately prevail.

Igiligi Aku 🐓 remains the Candidate of the people of Oyi, given freely by APGA, and no court process changes what the party and the people have already decided.

Ndi Oyi, this is a moment that calls for calm, focus, and unity, not despair. Awkuzu, Nteje, Umunya, Ogbunike, Nkwelle-Ezunaka. every ward, every voice, remains firmly behind this mandate. THE PARTY HAS GIVEN KOSI THR MANDATE: NO ONE CAN CHANGE THAT

The Oyi State Constituency mandate remains firmly with Chief Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi, (Igiligi Aku, Following the decisive endorsement of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The party has spoken clearly and unambiguously: this is the candidate they chose to carry its banner and represent the good people of Oyi, and Igiligi Aku will surely rise to that responsibility with the diligence and commitment the mandate demands.

The recent High Court judgment has done nothing to alter this reality. No court can impose on APGA a candidate the party itself has rejected, and no ruling can override the will of a party that has already made its choice known. Igiligi Aku remains, and will remain, on the ballot, his candidacy is not a matter for the high court to decide, but a matter the party has already settled.

With Igiligi Aku, Oyi State Constituency is set to witness a fresh wave of legislative representation, one rooted in accountability, grassroots engagement, and the genuine protection of the people's interests.

*PRESS STATEMENT FROM IGILIGI AKU CAMPAIGN:*

Our attention has been drawn to a publication making rounds and attributed to one Eneh Victor Chigozie where he maliciously said that Hon. Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi (Igiligi Aku ) has "accepted" the outcome of the High Court judgement, that his campaign structures should "collapse", and that a consensus candidate has emerged in Oyi Local Government Area. We wish to categorically refute these claims as false and misleading.

For the records, Kosisochukwu accepted the *"VERDICT"* of the High Court, as any law-abiding citizen would do, but acceptance of a court's verdict is not the same as Conceding the matter. Consistent with his legal rights, he will appeal the judgement by every lawful means available. This is a standard and necessary step in our justice system, and it remains so.

The picture being circulated was when Hon. Kosiso respectfully greeted his Big Brother Hon Innocent Ojike which he has always done anytime their part crossed

We urge all campaign structures, supporters, and well-wishers of Igiligi Aku to disregard the malicious post and any similar publications in circulation. A court does not impose a candidate on a political party and that is a matter for the party's own processes, and the question is far from settled. The celebration in the other camp is, temporary and short-lived, as we hold full confidence that justice will be done at the appeal level.

Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi remains the duly produced candidate of the APGA primary Election and will be on the ballot for the 2027 House of Assembly election for Oyi constituency.

*FEDERAL HIGH COURT JUDGMENT ON THE APGA OYI STATE CONSTITUENCY PRIMARY ELECTIONS*

The Igiligi Aku Campaign Organisation acknowledges the judgment delivered today by the Federal High Court in the suit brought by Mr. Innocent Ojike challenging the outcome of the APGA primary election for the Oyi State Constituency seat.

We note the court's decision and respect the judicial process as a vital pillar of our democracy. However, we wish to state clearly that this judgment is not the final verdict on this matter. Our Principal, Kosisochukwu Augustine Ibemesi, was duly returned as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Oyi State Constituency in accordance with the party's established primary election guidelines, and we maintain full confidence in the integrity of that process.

We wish to assure our teeming supporters, party faithfuls, and the good people of Oyi State Constituency that unanimously gave us this mandate through a "Free and Fair Process" that there is no cause for alarm. Our legal team has already commenced steps to appeal today's judgment without delay.

However, Until a final binding determination is reached by the appropriate judicial authority, Kosisochukwu Ibemesi remains the candidate produced by APGA in Oyi State Constituency.

As we officially kick off our campaign for the 2027 General election, I humbly present myself once again to the good people of Oyi State Constituency; not merely as a candidate, but as a young man with a vision, energy and genuine commitment to serve.

My manifesto is built around practical ideas that can unlock Oyi’s potential: empowering our youths, strengthening education and human capital development, promoting tourism and culture, creating opportunities for our people through infrastructure, and ensuring effective representative that listens, acts and delivers.

To my people in Awkuzu, this moment is particularly significant. For many years, you have clamoured for the opportunity to produce a candidate who will represent your interests in the State House of Assembly.
