The pressure to "make it" among some young people today is becoming increasingly worrying. Every generation has dreamed of financial success, but the difference now is that many want it instantly, without fully considering the risks involved.
No matter how popular or successful someone appears online, they are still a stranger until you truly know them. Trusting someone simply because they have a large following or create great content can be dangerous. Leaving home to meet someone you barely know without informing your parents, guardians, or trusted friends is a decision that can have serious consequences.
This is not a post to blame or shame anyone. It is a call for parents, guardians, older siblings, teachers, and mentors to keep guiding the younger generation. Many young people are ambitious and full of dreams, but they also need wisdom, patience, and guidance. Not every opportunity is genuine, and not every shortcut leads to success.
Social media is a powerful tool. It has changed lives, created careers, and opened doors that never existed before. But while it offers opportunities, it also requires discernment. Success is not measured by how quickly you become popular but by how wisely you build something that lasts.
To every man, remember that true strength is shown through discipline, respect, and self-control. Taking advantage of another person's trust or vulnerability is never a sign of power—it is a betrayal of character. If a crime has been committed, justice should be allowed to take its full course.
And to every young person, especially young girls: your life is valuable. No disappointment, setback, or painful experience defines your future. When life feels unbearable, please speak to someone you trust and allow others to support you. There is hope beyond today's pain, and asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do.
May we raise a generation that values wisdom over haste, character over shortcuts, and safety over temporary opportunities.
