Truck Falls Off Oshodi Bridge, LASTMA Rescues Injured Victim

A fully loaded truck plunged off the Oshodi Bridge on Saturday after suffering brake failure while descending from Oshodi-Oke inward Mile 2. LASTMA officials quickly rescued a severely injured man and handed the driver over to the police.

The agency cleared the scene to restore traffic flow and urged motorists to ensure proper vehicle maintenance.

Four jailed for receiving cash payment on BRT buses.

Four men — Aiyankhe Samuel, Ejikeme Nkendinma, Ajayi Oluwafemi, and Sakiru Ajani — have been jailed for illegally collecting cash from passengers on LAMATA-regulated buses in Lagos.

Chief Magistrate F.J. Adefioye found them guilty of unauthorized collection and conversion of government funds. They were each sentenced to five months imprisonment on three-count charges.

LAMATA said the conviction is part of efforts to enforce a cashless fare system and curb revenue leakages in Lagos public transport.

A tragic accident reportedly occurred yesterday evening in Akungba, Ondo State, where an alleged Dangote Group truck crushed about 20 people to de@th.

The heartbreaking incident was first reported by an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as , who claimed to have received “over 100 messages” about the crash.

In his post, he wrote “I have just received unfortunate news in my DM. Over 100 messages. Dangote trailer k!lled about 20 people in Akungba, Ondo State this evening. Same incident style that has been claiming student lives for years.”

While details surrounding the accident remain sketchy at the time of this report, residents have expressed outrage, recalling similar accidents involving heavy-duty trucks in the area especially near the Akungba-Akoko axis, which is home to the Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA).
