A Beautiful Display of Unity, Love & Peace

The women from Sabo made their way from their street to the Ataoja’s Palace and onward to the Osun Temple, celebrating with songs and dance. Inside the room, they joined Mama Olosun, Arugba and other women, sharing a beautiful moment of joy and cultural togetherness.

Different backgrounds, one community this is what unity, love and peace should look like.

Whatever Tradition You Find Yourself In, Honour It With Respect

Whatever tradition you belong to, serve it with sincerity, respect and good character. Honour the values that connect you to your roots, preserve what is meaningful and pass the good parts on to the next generation.

And to those who follow a different tradition, let’s stop abusing, möçking or looking down on one another because of our differences. We may have different beliefs and ways of life, but we are still people sharing the same land, history and humanity.

Let’s choose respect over inșũłțs, love over hãtred and understanding over division. Different traditions, one humanity.

They Didn’t Come to Ask They Came to Say THANK YOÛ to Yeye 0sun.
Not every visit to a sacred place is about asking for something.

Some of these devotees sitting beside the Osun River came with their ipese to express gratitude for what they beliêvê Yeye Osun has done in their livěs.

Whatever tradition or religion you follow, gratitude should never be forg0tten. When lifě gives you reasons to be thankful, remember to appreciate them.

They came with grateful hěǎrts, not empty promises simply to say “Thank you.”

Do you believe gratitude is as important as asking for blessings?

OUR HERITAGE CAME BEFORE US LET’S NOT L0SẼ IT

Before Christïǎnity and Isłäm became established in many parts of Africa, our ãncest0rs already had indigenous traditi0ns, systems of belief, festivals, languages, music, art and ways of life that shaped our communities and connected generations.

Christïǎnity came to parts of West Africa through early European contact and later missi0näry activity, while Isłäm reached West Africa centuries earlier through North African and trans-Sähäran traders, scholars and Müslïm communities. There was no single person who “introduced Isłäm” to all of West Africa; figures such as Mänsa Müsa helped spread Isłämic scholarship and influence in the region, while Usmǎn dän Fødio later played a major role in expanding Isłäm in northern Nigeria.

This message is not about rẽjectïng Čhrïstĩąnity or Isłäm. It is about refusing to forget our indigenous heritage because of our different religions. We can wørship according to our fãith and still respect, document and preserve the traditions that existed before us.

ONE PEOPLE. ONE HERITAGE. ONE AFRICA.

Let our differences in religion not desťřöÿ our sense of belonging. Our culture should unite us, n0t dividẽ us. Let us teach the next generation where we came from, protect what our ãncest0rs left behind and make sure our heritage remains ours.

Togetherness can make it work. Together, we can preserve what belongs to us.

Whatever You Believe In, Hold It With Faith.

Look at these vvomen gathered around their dēǐy, keeping a tradition they have continued to honour year after year. They return during the festival to pay homage, offer prayers and remain c0mmitted to what they believe in.

Whatever your belief may be, hold it sincerely, stay truthful to yourself and never l0se sight of the values that guide you.
