🎨✏️ From simple shapes to colourful creations!

Oluwaseyi Oni Oni Oluwaseyi Semuon took the children on a creative journey during his “Draw Like A Pro!” Children’s Illustration Workshop at ACBF2026. ✨

The young artists explored the three basic shapes (circles, squares, and triangles) and discovered how they can be combined to create drawings. They also learnt to identify primary and secondary colours, mix colours using the colour wheel, and blend colours to bring their artwork to life. 🌈🖌️

It was a fun, hands-on session that showed the children that great drawings can start with something as simple as a shape.

📚✨ Why do we keep giving out books?

Because a book is more than pages and words.

A book can introduce a child to a new idea, expand their imagination, strengthen their language, build confidence, and inspire them to dream beyond what they already know.

Literacy gives children the tools to learn. Education gives them the opportunity to grow. And books give them stories, knowledge and possibilities to explore along the way.

That is why, year after year, the founders of the Akada Children’s Book Festival make it a priority to put books into the hands of children in schools and communities.

We believe every child deserves access to books. Every child deserves the opportunity to read. Every child deserves the chance to discover what is possible. 📖💛

Because when we give a child a book, we are not just giving them something to read. We are giving them something to learn from, imagine with, and grow into.
