Loving God above all things—even above ourselves—is the greatest decision we can ever make. Sometimes we think loving ourselves first is enough, but the truth is, no one can love us the way God does. When we place God first, we step into a love that is deeper, purer, and everlasting.
The beautiful thing is this: when you love God more than yourself, you don’t lose—you gain. You gain His guidance, His protection, and His unfailing love. And in return, He takes care of you in ways you could never do on your own.
As the Bible says, “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). And again, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
So let your love for God come first. Trust Him, choose Him daily, and watch how His love transforms every part of your life. Because in the end, the safest place to be is in the love of God.
