PREAMBLE
We, the sons and daughters of the Niger Delta, conscious of our history, our natural resources, our cultural heritage, our environment, our suffering and our responsibility to generations yet unborn, hereby establish and present the Niger Delta Republic Digital Government as a peaceful, diplomatic and digitally organized platform for the advancement and protection of the interests of the Niger Delta people.
We unite ourselves for the unknown, prepared to build a future in which the people of the Niger Delta have a meaningful voice in determining their political, economic, environmental and social destiny.
Our movement is founded upon peace, justice, self-determination, resource control, environmental protection, accountability, human dignity and the rule of law.
We remember the historic declaration associated with Isaac Adaka Boro in 1966, and we draw inspiration from his courage and determination to speak for the people of the Niger Delta.
We therefore declare that the struggle for the dignity and advancement of the Niger Delta shall continue through non-violent advocacy, diplomacy, education, political organization, international engagement and digital governance.

The Niger Delta Republic Digital Government advocates for the right of the Niger Delta people to self-determination.
The principle of self-determination is recognized in the United Nations Charter and other international instruments. We shall therefore pursue our aspirations through lawful democratic, diplomatic and international channels.

It is a demand that the aspirations, dignity and legitimate political wishes of the Niger Delta people be heard and respected.
We shall use:

* International advocacy;
* Peaceful demonstrations;
* Public education;
* Legal processes;
* Political engagement;

ARTICLE THREE
THE MEMORY OF ISAAC ADaka BORO
We recognize Major Isaac Adaka Boro as one of the historic figures who brought international attention to the political grievances of the Niger Delta through the declaration of the Niger Delta People's Republic in 1966.
His historic action remains an important part of Niger Delta political history.
On the mandates and historical memory associated with Boro, we commit ourselves to pursuing the aspirations of our people through peaceful and democratic means.
We shall teach our children the history of the Niger Delta so that the sacrifices of those who came before us will never be forgotten. ARTICLE FOUR
HONOURING OUR HEROES AND HEROINES
The Niger Delta has produced men and women who resisted injustice, defended their communities, fought for environmental protection and demanded greater rights for our people.
Among those whose historical contributions we recognize are:

Eyo Honesty VII of Creek Town
Chief Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff and other figures of Niger Delta political history

Chief Melford Okilo
And the many unnamed community leaders, women, youths and ordinary citizens who sacrificed for their communities.
We shall continue researching and documenting the history of the Niger Delta and seek appropriate national and international recognition for those whose sacrifices contributed to the struggle for justice, dignity and self-determination.
We shall also preserve the stories of communities and individuals whose contributions have been neglected by official history.

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
For decades, oil exploration has profoundly affected many Niger Delta communities.
We demand urgent action concerning:

Our farmers should be able to cultivate uncontaminated land.
Our children should be able to drink clean water.
Our communities should not sacrifice their health and future merely because petroleum resources are beneath their soil and waters.
ARTICLE SEVEN
RESOURCE CONTROL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
The Niger Delta Republic Digital Government advocates for a new economic relationship between the Niger Delta and the Nigerian state.

3. Community rights;
4. Political representation;
5. Security;
6. Economic development;
7. Youth empowerment;
8. Transparent oil revenue management;
9. Protection of indigenous communities; and
10. The political question of self-determination.
The Federal Government should not respond to legitimate political demands merely through force.
Dialogue must replace confrontation.
Justice must replace neglect.
Development must replace destruction.
ARTICLE SIXTEEN
THE ROAD TO THE NIGER DELTA REPUBLIC
We are building the Niger Delta Republic digitally as a platform through which our people can organize, educate themselves, develop institutions and prepare for the future.
Our ultimate political aspiration is a Niger Delta Republic capable of governing its own affairs, controlling its resources and making laws for its people, subject to the peaceful and lawful realization of that aspiration.
We shall pursue this objective through democratic consultation and international diplomacy.
The future political status of the Niger Delta must ultimately be determined through a legitimate process that reflects the will of its people and complies with applicable law.
