An unnamed man’s luck came to an end on Thursday when he was allegedly caught stealing female underwear by locals in Ikeja area of Lagos State.

According to eyewitnesses, the man was allegedly seen when he was picking the underwear from where it was and he was challenged by residents of the area to reveal what was in the bag he was holding.

He refused to open the bag and instead hurled insults threatening his accusers. Not wanting to give in to the man's threat, the locals took the man's bag forcefully and it was discovered that the man was in possession of female underwear.

Mayo Ojo, an eyewitness who spoke with Punch newspaper said: "We were upstairs and all of a sudden, one of us, Tunde, saw a man picking up bras, pants and some clothes that were spread outside.

“When he was done, he looked in different directions to ensure that nobody saw him. As he began walking away with those items, we came down and alerted other residents, who stopped him.

“Rather than being remorseful, the man began threatening that he would deal with us for insulting him.

“When the people asked him to open the bag he was carrying, he bragged that he was going to beat them up. But when the people forced him to open the bag, they were surprised to see bras, pants and clothes in the bag.”

Nigeria’s foremost music executive, Kenny Ogungbe, has said politicians in Nigeria do not really support the entertainment industry, but use them during election seasons for campaigns.

Ogungbe, who is the founder of Kennis music, the record label that was instrumental to the success of Nigerian singer, 2Baba, stated this in an interview with Sahara TV at Wizkid's 'VIP Experience' concert, which held in December 2018.

According to him, many politicians do not invest in entertainment, but "during politics, they will use musicians to gather people together at their campaign grounds, and they will use music to sell their manifestoes".

Speaking further, he advised entertainers not to get involved or align with political parties, as this can be used against them by other political parties.

"If a popular one (artist) is involved, you will be zeroing in on a particular party. Let's say Davido. He is known to be PDP. Anywhere there is APC, they see him as PDP and they will cut him off. If you're APC, if you go to PDP, they cut you off, but if you’re a big artiste, I will advise you to stay (out) and allow them to do their campaigns. After winning, you now celebrate the winner, because the winner will be the one in government,” he said.

Rihanna Fenty, an American singer popularly known as Rihanna, has sued her father, Ronald Fenty, for using their last name for business.

Rihanna had already trademarked the 'Fenty' name for some business ventures, but the singer is claiming in the suit that her father is using the reputation she has created with the name for profit.

According to a court document obtained by American magazine, TMZ on Tuesday, allegedly filed at a California federal court, the singer claimed that her father and his business partner, Moses Joktan Poerkins “have egregiously and fraudulently misrepresented to third parties and the public that their company, Fenty Entertainment, LLC, is affiliated with Rihanna, and has the authority to act on her behalf".

The singer further claimed that in a desperate bid to profit off the name, her father made attempts to trademark the name 'Fenty'.

The court document further read that Mr. Fenty "used these lies in a fraudulent effort to solicit millions of dollars from unsuspecting third parties in exchange for the false promise that they were authorized to act on Rihanna’s behalf, and/or that Rihanna would perform at various locations throughout the world".

Mr. Fenty and his business partner was also accused of collecting deals for Rihanna to perform at 15 shows in Latin America for $15million.

Rihanna is seeking a court injunction to be placed on her father from using the name 'Fenty' and for damages. She said she has tried severally to call her father to order with cease-and-desist letters but her efforts have not yielded fruit.
