DROP THAT GUN!
I wish I could, like Apostle Paul in the bible, declare that "I have fought a good fight..."
However, let's say for now that I have fought a good number of fights... spiritual and physical.
Before the spiritual fights, I got into too many physical fights, a bit more than my fair share, if there be such. It's the way I lived.
I can tell you a few truths about fighting.
I think the worst fight to get into is one without a cause or one whose cause does not have your conviction. If you do not truly believe in a cause, do not be drawn into fighting for it.
It is this conviction in (and devotion to) the cause that fuels and drives your body.
Muscles don't win fights; I've seen muscular men lose fights to the skinny and the flabby whose minds were hard or dead enough to do damage.
The impetus to fight lies in the mind, not in the body. It's the mind that drives the body.
Fights emanate from the mind, and if the true solution to a problem must address the root of the problem, then we ignore the mind at our own peril.
"Mind management", an expression I heard from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, appears to be THE big key here.
In all, violence in itself is an admission of failure; a failure of the intellect. When reasoning fails, that's when you pull the trigger.
Let me tell you more about this in another story. For now,
DROP THAT GUN!
The song comes in another 4 days!
