🚨🔵 BREAKING: CHELSEA HAVE A NEW OWNER! 🔵⚡

Chelsea have officially confirmed a major change at the top of the club.

Clearlake Capital will acquire Todd Boehly’s shares and Mark Walter’s shares, giving Clearlake full control of Chelsea. Boehly will also step down from his role as Chairman.

However, Chelsea have confirmed that there will be no changes to the club’s day-to-day operations, leadership or overall strategy.

Hansjörg Wyss will remain an important stakeholder, while Clearlake say their focus will continue to be on infrastructure, sporting performance, player development and long-term success.

Boehly described his time as Chairman as an honour and thanked the Premier League, staff, players, coaches and Chelsea supporters.

Meanwhile, Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano thanked Boehly for his contribution, saying he will always remain part of Chelsea’s story and family.

A major change in ownership — but Chelsea insist the direction of the club remains the same. 💙

Carabao Cup fourth-round draw: Liverpool to host Chelsea as Arsenal to face League Two side

Liverpool will host Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, while Premier League champions Arsenal have drawn the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, Fleetwood Town.

The League Two side will host the Gunners after upsetting Championship side Sheffield United at home in the third round.

Chelsea's trip to Anfield is one of five all-Premier League clashes, with a potential sixth if Manchester City beat Norwich on Thursday, live on Sky Sports, which would set up a home tie against Brighton, who pulled off a sensational comeback to win at Manchester United.
