THERE ARE MANY CHURCHES IN NIGERIA, BUT ONLY VERY FEW ARE THE TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
I greet you all in the name of the Living God who sent me. It is I, whom God has said to you will live a healthy life.
I am here today to answer a question. But before that, it is important that I tell you that as the days go by, the fear of God continues to increase in me more and more.
In one of my previous messages, I told you that I am the angel of the church of God in Smyrna. While writing about the synagogue of Satan, I mentioned their name in this generation. When I did that, God told me that it would draw the attention of those people. However, it is important to mention that I prayed to God at that time, begging Him not to allow certain things to happen.
This is because I write every single one of these messages in the presence of the Living God.
So, as these things are happening, they have never been a surprise to me because I knew they were going to happen. I also know more than what is already happening, including the things that are yet to happen.
Today, I want to answer one of their questions. Someone may ask, "Why am I even answering them?"
To such a person, I read this Scripture:
**Matthew 19:3–9 (NIV)**
> Some Pharisees came to Him to test Him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?"
> "Haven't you read," He replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?
> So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
> "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
> Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
> I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."
What I want to point out here is that even in the days of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Pharisees often came to ask Him questions, and He answered them.
It is important to answer such questions, not because they will all believe and repent, but because by answering them, many people will receive salvation. Answering their questions did not stop them from planning to kill Him, just as it will not stop the rulers of the synagogue of Satan from planning to put some of us in prison. Nevertheless, for the sake of those who will receive salvation through these answers, we must continue to answer them.
So they asked about **Matthew 6:33 (ESV):**
> "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
This is their question:
Since Matthew 6:33 promises that if people seek first the kingdom of God, every other thing shall be added to them, then why has Nigeria had Christianity for generations, with thousands of churches and pastors, yet there seems to be little measurable improvement in the lives of many ordinary poor people? They asked, "What measurable benefit can you point to as evidence of this promise?" They also said that if I had an example, they would be interested in hearing it, and they requested that we discuss the evidence respectfully rather than attacking one another.
This is their question, and I will answer it in truth and in all honesty.
First of all, you were once a Christian before you became who you are now. At that time, you were going to church. Even from childhood, you attended church. But were you actually living a holy and righteous life then?
My second question is this: At that time, were you truly seeking the kingdom of God, or were you simply going to church?
I do not know what your answer to these questions may be. But if you say that you were truly seeking the kingdom of God, then let me ask you another question: Were you actually born again?
The Lord Jesus Christ said in **John 3:3:**
> "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
Were you truly born again?
You may say yes because, in those days, some pastors or priests asked you to repeat after them, saying, "Lord Jesus Christ, today I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior."
But I can tell you freely that this alone is not what being born again truly is.
Why should you agree with me? It is because it is written in **1 John 3:9 (KJV):**
> "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."
Read it carefully: **Whoever is born of God does not commit sin.**
How then can you tell me that you were truly born again at that time, while at the same time you were still living in sin in one way or another? If you can be honest with yourself, you will know the answer.
Again, your present activity of fighting against Jesus and His churches is also strong evidence that you were never truly born again. It is also evidence that everyone following you today was never truly born again.
Someone may claim to be a pastor and yet not be born again. Someone may claim to be a prophet and yet not be born again. Before you tell me that one person among you was a pastor, let me remind you that your present activities are clear evidence that none of you was ever truly born again.
This is because the Scripture says that anyone who has been born of God does not continue in sin. God's seed remains in that person. That person has been joined together in an eternal relationship with God. That person and God have become one.
Therefore, you were never truly born again. Since you did not meet the requirements, there was no way you could have received "all these things" that Jesus promised would be added.
Now let us look at the churches in Nigeria today.
Many of them are not the Church of Jesus Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said long ago in the Scriptures:
**Matthew 24:11–13 (NIV)**
> "And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."
Jesus Christ said that false prophets would arise and deceive many people.
Most of these so-called churches in Nigeria today are nothing but glorified shrines. They are not the Church of Jesus Christ. They are the end-time churches that our Lord Jesus Christ spoke about.
With this evidence, you cannot say that all of them are the Church of Jesus Christ.
It is true that they mention the name of Jesus, but let me also show you what our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said concerning that.
**Matthew 7:21**
> "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven."
Not everyone who calls Jesus Christ "Lord" is truly seeking the kingdom of God. That is why they will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
They were never truly seeking the kingdom of God, because anyone who is seeking the kingdom of God will also seek His righteousness.
That is why some people mention the name of Jesus while sleeping with other people's wives. That is why many kinds of evil are being practiced among them.
If you go to some churches, you will find choristers and choir members sleeping with one another, all in the name of a relationship.
Some churches have even turned themselves into matchmaking centers, all in the name of helping people find husbands or wives.
How on earth can you call such places the Church of Jesus Christ?
Did our Lord Jesus Christ ever give such an instruction?
When you go to these so-called churches, you will find that many of the people there were never seeking the kingdom of God. Some of them came only because they were looking for a husband or a wife.
Because of the large number of women seeking husbands, some pastors have been pushed out of the will of God and have turned the church into a matchmaking center.
So how can you tell me that they are seeking the kingdom of God?
I believe I am answering your question.
Many of these people go to church, not because they are seeking the kingdom of God, but because they are seeking wealth.
Yet our Lord Jesus Christ said,
> "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
How then can you tell me that they were seeking the kingdom of God while they continued living in sin every day?
Some years ago, when I was working at the Federal High Court of Nigeria, I knew a particular judge's driver. He was a married man, and we were all living in the judge's quarters.
One day, a Christian lady came from Port Harcourt to visit him. This lady was a Christian, and she knew that the man was married. Yet she was sleeping with him.
One Sunday morning, the lady got ready to go to church. But the man stopped her, and they had sexual relations that morning. After they were done, she dressed up and went to church.
When she got to the church, the pastor was busy shouting, "You are blessed!" because he was blind. He was one of those blind leaders of the blind.
Then tomorrow, people will ask why they are not progressing.
But the truth is that they were never seeking the kingdom of God.
It is true that I later judged that man, though not because of what he did with that lady, but for a completely different reason.
He was a Muslim, and so was the judge. Because of that, he thought he had more authority than the rest of us.
One day, he and his friends entered one of my boys' rooms and messed it up with the prostitutes they had brought there. My boys reported him to me, and I became angry with him.
I judged him and said to him, "Because you have said in your heart that you have more authority than us, this job of yours shall be taken away from you."
Within one week, his job was taken away. A letter came directly from Abuja informing him of his dismissal.
He later came back and pleaded with me, asking me to forgive him for the sake of his children.
I then told him, "You shall not lose your job."
I went back and spoke to my God concerning him, and he was pardoned. A recall letter came from Abuja, and he was restored to his job.
Ever since then, he has known me as a true prophet of God—a man whose words are not in vain.
Now, back to what I was saying.
Looking at the way these so-called churches conduct themselves, you will know that they were never the Church of Jesus Christ.
The Church of Jesus Christ is not a place where you will find sin.
It cannot happen that you commit fornication and then come into my Father's church without being exposed. It has never happened before.
As you are coming, my Father is already telling you every detail about your life and what you have done. He may even cast some people out because they have no fear of God.
That is how the true Church of Jesus Christ is supposed to be.
The true Church of Jesus Christ is a place where sin has no place.
And if you go there, you will also find the riches and the wealth that are truly there,
because the Word of God cannot be a lie.
So what am I saying?
There are many churches in Nigeria, but only very few are the true Church of Jesus Christ.
And if you go into their midst, poverty is not something you will easily find.
Now let me add something further.
There are people who are poor, not because they were destined to be poor, but because of their unwillingness to obey Christ.
When Jesus Christ told them to repent and turn away from sinful living, many refused to repent.
I know a young man who used to push a wheelbarrow in the market.
Every night after returning from work, he would drink more than four bottles of b**r.
Every Friday night, he would go to the club, spending money and living as though he had already made it in life, even though he was only a wheelbarrow pusher.
Then on Sunday, he would go to church and return home still living the same lifestyle.
Tomorrow, someone will say that the church did not help him in any way.
But before saying that, ask yourself this:
Was that person truly following the doctrine of Jesus Christ, or was he simply doing his own will?
These are the questions you must ask before judging matters that are greater than you.
But I tell you the truth:
If anyone truly seeks the kingdom of God and His righteousness, every other thing shall surely be added to him or her.
I will stop here for now.
