"Meet my A3-sized masterpiece: Martin Lawrence!
I made this artwork last year. It's special to me - my first art piece without using only Hb pencil and my first using grid lines. Compared to my previous A4-sized. I've taken a leap in size and technique.
Last year, my mum gifted me an A3 sketch pad. I then invested in 5B pencil and charcoal pencil, eager to explore realism beyond Hb pencil. Searching Pinterest for the perfect reference, Martin Lawrence's iconic smile, familiar from Big Momma caught my eye.
This drawing took approximately 2 months to complete, and I'm thrilled with the outcome. The new materials and divine guidance made a significant difference from my Hb-only artworks.
Currently, I'm working on a new piece amidst school responsibilities. Stay tuned for progress updates! I'm excited to experiment with steadier pencils, white charcoal pencil, and Tombow Mono Zero eraser.
