LEARNING OBEDIENCE THROUGH SUFFERING

Good Morning and Win Forever in Jesus Christ’s name – Amen! Obeying God at first may seem hard until we come to realise that all He is asking for is for our own good – to make life free and full. As Christians, our obedience to God's Word is the only proof of our faith in Him. As Prophet T.B. Joshua noted, if we who are children of God cannot commit our bodies to God when we are sick, what would be the essence of our faith? If we as children of God cannot commit our businesses to God, in both good and hard times, what would be the evidence of our faith?
Brethren in Christ, our situation is not like others’. For the people of the world, their situation may be to destroy them but ours is for the glory of God. Who knows what would have happened if your prayers for a better condition had been answered? People of God, hope you know that our situation is an opportunity to honour God before men? The people of the world are waiting to see how you handle your situation.
In the Book of Hebrews 5:8, the Bible says about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, that though He is the Son of the Living God, He learnt obedience through the things He suffered and therefore was made perfect. Brethren in Christ, if the King of Kings, our Saviour Jesus Christ, could go through trials and temptations and learn obedience from them, how much more would be expected of us, His followers? Children of God, what is your situation? Is it poverty, hardship, sickness, limitation, stagnation? Remember that God is using it to preserve you for redemption, to prepare you for that great future.
In conclusion, people of God, don't ever let your situation make you doubt God's ability to put you over; always trust His will and promises for your life.
SAY THIS PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, help me to continue to trust and obey You, even in the face of overwhelmingly negative sense evidence.

NEVER LET YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES CONTROL YOU

John 16:33 says: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Never let your circumstances control you, for Jesus has overcome for you! A man may be sick in body and yet be a candidate of Heaven – or poor and yet be a friend of God. Whatever you may be facing, stay firm and cheerful, for challenges teach us to pray always. Many Christians fret, mutter, lament and gripe about their situation; they are concerned about how they are performing, feeling or being treated. Yet, it is all about the Saviour – Jesus Christ – and not about us.

Your situation says: “You’re not a candidate of Heaven. You can’t achieve anything because you’re a sinner. You’re nothing and won’t amount to anything.” Your situation talks fear and doubt. But instead of worrying and doubting, come to the revelation of what God says about your situation (2 Corinthians 12:1). What you are complaining about may be to prepare you for a new level in life and stop you awhile in order to prepare you well for the journey ahead while strengthening your desire for God.

2 Corinthians 12:8 says, “Concerning this thing – I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.” Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh and prayed earnestly to God for its removal, beseeching the Lord three times. This means that we must persist in prayer until we get an answer. Remember, that prayer is a salve to every sore, a remedy to every malady. When afflicted with thorns in our flesh, we should give ourselves to prayer. A person who aspires to be the source of freedom must first have experienced hardship. For gold to be gold, it must pass through the furnace of fire. So, whatever situation you are in now, be mindful that it is meant to strengthen your love for God.

Prayer point: O Holy Spirit, make our hearts ready to follow You and bend our hearts to do Your will, in Jesus’ name! Amen.

DISCOVER YOUR REAL VALUE

Hebrews 13:8 says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Bible also says that Jesus Christ is the Word by whom God speaks to us. This means that whatever God says — whatever that is rooted in God’s Word is permanent, stable, incontestable and untouchable. When you look at your life, you will see that you make life-changing decisions on a daily basis. The question is, are you making the right decision? Unless the decisions we are making are rooted in God’s Word, they won’t stand the test of time. Therefore, deciding to put your trust in Christ Jesus is the most important decision you can make in life. When you receive Him, you will get His idea, know the opinion of yourself and others, work with His project and see yourself the way God sees you. You will see your real value.

If you can’t see your real value, you won’t be able to fulfil the purpose which God created you for. Consider the case of Joseph, he was shown a photograph of his future at a tender age. This photograph is within everyone, it is planted by the Holy Spirit and must be watered before it can produce its harvest. Therefore, we have a role to play because a man can’t discover new oceans if he doesn’t lose sight of the shore. When you believe in your dreams, you will become a man of vision.

To a man of vision, no matter what happens, there is always a future. That is why when Joseph found himself in the dry pit, he said to himself, “This is not where I belong; I know my real value.” If you are a man of vision, no matter the obstacle on your way, you can never be stopped.

Finally, if you want to discover your real value, you must see whatever you are doing as an assignment from God. When you do this, you won’t disappoint Him because you will be conscious of the fact that you will return back to Him and give an account of your actions. Therefore, make the most of life by doing things that God wants you to do, because life is too short to waste time on things that have no lasting value.
