Here's an apology from Gbedu 100.1FM for misinforming the public about banditry attack at a school in Imota , Ikorodu, Lagos. My own apology follows:
Oh my goodness! In fact, my face is covered in shame for what this radio station did. It is a major journalistic ethics to confirm stories to be factual before going ahead to inform the masses. It's called verification code.
As news affects our lives and reactions, that's why it has to be total and factual. A whole functional national radio shouldn't have made this error. As a colleague and practicing journalist, I share in this shame and apologize on behalf of Gbedu FM once again. It really caused a wrong reaction in our school today.
