Today, April 21, we celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day ( ) — a global moment to recognize the power of creativity and innovation in solving problems, shaping communities, and reimagining the future.
At the Read-A-Create Children’s Creativity Festival, this is exactly what we stand for.
Creativity is not just about art — it’s how children think, express, and make sense of the world. That’s why our festival explores creativity in its many forms:
Storytelling & Literacy – Helping children find their voice, tell their own stories, and build confidence through reading and writing.
Art & Expression – From drawing to crafts, children explore imagination, identity, and emotion through visual creativity.
Performance & Play – Drama, role-play, and puppet-making that build confidence, empathy, and communication skills.
Music & Rhythm – Engaging with sound, culture, and movement to spark joy and cultural connection.
Creative Thinking & Problem-Solving – Encouraging curiosity, questioning, and innovative thinking from an early age.
Culture & Identity – Centering African stories, patterns, and perspectives so children see themselves in what they create.
In a world facing complex challenges, nurturing creativity in children is not optional — it’s essential.
Let’s raise a generation of thinkers, makers, storytellers, and innovators.
