EYE SERVICE: Order of the day
It is eye service when a woman prostrates to greet her pastor or other people, yet stands stiffly when greeting her husband.
It is eye service when you mistreat your house help, but suddenly become kind whenever visitors or neighbours are around.
It is eye service when your family knows you as a stubborn child, but outsiders see you as humble, obedient, and respectful.
It is eye service when you pray loudly in tongues during every church prayer session, yet cannot spend one minute praying in your private time.
It is eye service when a woman serves visitors with her finest plates and cups, but serves her husband with old or worn-out ones.
It is eye service when a man gives his all to the church while neglecting the needs of his own home.
It is eye service when your family sees you as a devoted church girl, but your school campus knows you for a completely different lifestyle.
It is eye service when a woman respectfully bends to hand something to strangers, but carelessly or disrespectfully hands things to her husband.
It is eye service when you hide explicit photos and chats on your phone, yet leave only Christian movies and religious content visible for others to see.
It is eye service when you deliberately wear revealing clothes, but immediately start pulling them down whenever you find yourself among elderly people.
The goal here is not to condemn anyone. Rather, it is to encourage sincerity. Live to please God with a genuine heart, not merely to impress people.
