DAY 15/99 β€” 99 DAYS LEARNING STREAK πŸ’»πŸ“š

Topic: Page Break, Section Break and Watermark

Today, I continued my Microsoft Word training by learning about Page Break, Section Break, and Watermark.

These features help us control the structure, organization, and presentation of documents.

πŸ“ What I Learned

πŸ”Ή Page Break
A Page Break allows us to start new content on a new page without repeatedly pressing the Enter key.

πŸ”Ή Section Break
A Section Break divides a document into different sections. This can be useful when different parts of a document need different formatting or page layouts.

πŸ”Ή Watermark
A Watermark is a faint text or image placed in the background of a document. It can be used for identification, professional presentation, or to indicate things such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL.

πŸ’‘ What This Means

I learned that these tools give us better control over how a document is arranged.

For example, when preparing a long report, project, lesson material, or official document, Page Breaks can separate major sections, Section Breaks can allow different layouts, and Watermarks can provide identification or status information.

🎯 My Key Lesson

Today I discovered that Microsoft Word has many features that can make document creation more organized and professional.

The more I learn, the more I understand that good digital skills are built through knowing the right tool and using it for the right purpose.

DAY 14/99 β€” 99 DAYS LEARNING STREAK πŸ’»πŸ“š

Topic: Microsoft Word β€” Home Menu

Today, I continued my Microsoft Word training by learning about the Home Menu and the tools available for editing and formatting documents.

The Home Menu contains some of the most commonly used tools in Microsoft Word. These tools help us make our documents clearer, more organized, and more professional.

πŸ“ What I Learned

Some important tools in the Home Menu include:

πŸ”Ή Font β€” used to change the typeface of text.
πŸ”Ή Font Size β€” used to increase or decrease the size of text.
πŸ”Ή Bold β€” makes text darker and more noticeable.
πŸ”Ή Italic β€” gives text a slanted appearance.
πŸ”Ή Underline β€” places a line underneath text.
πŸ”Ή Text Alignment β€” helps position text to the left, center, right, or justify it.
πŸ”Ή Bullets and Numbering β€” help organize information into lists.
πŸ”Ή Paragraph tools β€” help control spacing and arrangement of paragraphs.

πŸ’‘ What This Means

I learned that Microsoft Word is not only about typing words. Formatting is also important because it helps readers understand information easily.

For example, when preparing a CV, formal letter, lesson note, or report, proper font size, headings, alignment, spacing, and lists can make the document easier to read and more professional.

🎯 My Key Lesson

Today reminded me that knowing where a tool is located is not enough. I need to understand when and why to use it.

My goal is not just to pass the 99 Days Learning Streak assessment. I want to develop practical computer skills that I can continue using in my studies, work, teaching, and technology journey.

DAY 13/99 β€” 99 DAYS LEARNING STREAK πŸ’»πŸ”₯

Today is Day 13 of my 99 Days Learning Streak, and we have moved from Touch Typing into Microsoft Word.

Today's topic was:

πŸ“„ Title Bar, Quick Access Toolbar and Menu Bar

Microsoft Word has different parts that help us create, edit, save and manage documents. Understanding these parts makes it easier to work efficiently with Word.

πŸ”Ή 1. Title Bar

The Title Bar is located at the top of the Microsoft Word window.

It displays information about the document we are currently working on, including the document name and Microsoft Word.

It also contains the window control buttons, such as:

βž– Minimize
⬜ Maximize/Restore
❌ Close

πŸ”Ή 2. Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar provides quick access to commonly used commands.

Depending on the settings, it can contain commands such as:

πŸ’Ύ Save
↩️ Undo
β†ͺ️ Redo

The main idea is convenience β€” instead of searching through menus every time, frequently used commands can be accessed quickly.

πŸ”Ή 3. Menu Bar / File Menu

The menus provide access to different Word commands and features.

The File menu is particularly important for document management. It allows us to perform activities such as:

πŸ“„ Create a new document
πŸ“‚ Open a document
πŸ’Ύ Save a document
πŸ–¨οΈ Print a document
πŸ“€ Share/export a document
❌ Close a document

πŸ’‘ What I learned

Today's lesson reminded me that becoming good at Microsoft Word is not only about typing.

You also need to understand the interface and know where to find the tools you need.

When you understand the different parts of the Word interface, working with documents becomes easier, faster and more organized.

DAY 12/99 β€” 99 DAYS LEARNING STREAK ⌨️πŸ”₯

Today is Day 12 of my 99 Days Learning Streak, and we continued with Touch Typing.

Day 11 introduced me to the concept of touch typing and proper finger positioning. Today, the focus was on continuous practice to develop the skill.

⌨️ What I learned and practiced today

Touch typing is not something we master by understanding it once. It requires repeated practice until the fingers gradually develop muscle memory.

Today's learning focused on:

πŸ”Ή Applying the correct finger positioning.

πŸ”Ή Improving typing speed and accuracy.

πŸ”Ή Reducing the habit of constantly looking at the keyboard.

πŸ”Ή Building confidence when typing documents.

πŸ”Ή Developing proper typing habits through continuous practice.

🎯 The target

The required minimum for this stage is:

25 WPM (Words Per Minute)
92% Accuracy

This means the goal is not simply to type as fast as possible. I need to maintain a good balance between speed and accuracy.

One thing I'm learning from this exercise is that consistency matters. At first, using the correct fingers may feel slower than using familiar typing habits, but with regular practice, the fingers can gradually become more comfortable with their positions.

Touch typing is a simple skill, but it can become very useful when working with documents, programming, data entry and other computer-related tasks.

DAY 11/99 β€” 99 DAYS LEARNING STREAK ⌨️πŸ”₯

Today marks Day 11 and the beginning of Stage II of my 99 Days Learning Streak.

Our focus today was TOUCH TYPING.

Touch typing is a method of typing where we use the correct fingers to press the keys without constantly looking at the keyboard.

Before today, I knew how to type, but today's lesson reminded me that knowing how to type and knowing how to touch type are not exactly the same thing.

⌨️ What I learned today:

πŸ”Ή The Home Row

The basic home-row position is:

A S D F β€” J K L ;

The left hand rests on A, S, D, F, while the right hand rests on J, K, L, ;.

The thumbs are normally used for the Spacebar.

πŸ”Ή The F and J keys

The small raised marks on F and J help us locate our hand position without looking down at the keyboard.

πŸ”Ή Why proper finger positioning matters

Correct finger placement can help improve:

βœ… Typing speed
βœ… Accuracy
βœ… Muscle memory
βœ… Confidence
βœ… Typing efficiency

I also learned that touch typing is not about rushing to type fast. Accuracy and proper technique should come first.

🎯 My Stage II target

The required minimum for this stage is:

25 WPM + 92% Accuracy

So my goal is not simply to type faster, but to develop the correct habit of typing accurately without constantly looking at the keyboard.

Today's lesson taught me something simple but important:

Β«Speed comes with practice, but accuracy comes from doing things correctly.Β»

Tomorrow, I'll continue with Day 12 β€” Touch Typing and keep working toward the required target. πŸš€

πŸŽ‰ DAY 10/99 β€” STAGE 1 COMPLETED!

Today, I received my result from the 99 Days Learning Streak, and I'm happy to share that I QUALIFIED FOR STAGE 2! πŸš€πŸ”₯

My Stage 1 assessment result:

πŸ’» Basic Computer Skills: 36/40 β€” 90%
πŸ—‚οΈ Digital Archiving: 8/20 β€” 40%
πŸ“§ Email Communication: 15/20 β€” 75%
☁️ Cloud Storage: 17/20 β€” 85%

🎯 Total: 76/100 β€” 76%

The qualifying mark was 70%, so I made it to the next stage.

But beyond the score, this result taught me something important:

A result doesn't only show what you know; it can also show you what you need to improve.

My strongest area was Basic Computer Skills, where I scored 90%. I also performed well in Cloud Storage and Email Communication.

However, Digital Archiving was my weakest area, with 40%. Instead of being discouraged by that, I see it as a clear signal of where I need to put more effort.

This is one of the reasons I'm taking this 99 Days Learning Streak seriously. I'm not here only to collect certificates. I want to build real knowledge and practical skills that will contribute to my journey in technology, programming, AI, and digital transformation.

Stage 1 was the foundation.

Stage 2 starts now. πŸš€

I'm grateful to Hammad Technologies and Consultancy Limited for creating this opportunity and to everyone following my learning journey.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. πŸ™πŸ½

πŸ“… Day 9: Digital Archiving, Cloud Storage, Email Communication & Microsoft Excel

Today marks Day 9 of my 99 Days Learning Streak, and I continued building my digital skills by learning about how we can store, access, organize and share information digitally.

Today's major areas were:

πŸ“‚ Digital Archiving
☁️ Cloud Storage
πŸ“§ Email Communication
πŸ“Š Introduction to Microsoft Excel

πŸ“‚ Digital Archiving

I continued learning about the importance of keeping digital information properly organized.

When files are properly named, classified and stored, they become easier to find and retrieve when needed.

This is especially important when dealing with a large number of documents.

☁️ What Is Cloud Storage?

One of the main lessons today was cloud storage.

Cloud storage allows us to store digital files on remote servers and access those files through the internet instead of depending only on the storage available on our personal computer or phone.

This means our files can potentially be accessed from different devices when we have the necessary access and internet connection.

πŸ“€ Uploading and Downloading Files

I learned that cloud storage allows us to:

⬆️ Upload files from our device to the cloud.

⬇️ Download files from the cloud to our device.

πŸ“ Organize files into folders.

πŸ”— Share files with other people.

πŸ” Retrieve files when they are needed.

These features make cloud storage useful for both personal and professional work.

πŸ”„ File Synchronisation

I also learned about file synchronization.

Synchronization helps keep files or folders updated across connected devices or locations.

For example, when a file is synchronized, changes made to it in one connected location may be reflected in another.

This can make working with files across multiple devices more convenient.

πŸ” Cloud Security

Storing information online also means we need to think about security.

Some basic practices include:

πŸ”Ή Using strong passwords
πŸ”Ή Protecting account login details
πŸ”Ή Using appropriate sharing permissions
πŸ”Ή Avoiding sharing sensitive information unnecessarily
πŸ”Ή Being careful with unknown links and files
πŸ”Ή Using trusted cloud-storage services

Convenience should always be balanced with security.

πŸ“§ Email Communication

Email remains an important part of digital communication.

We can use email to send and receive information, communicate professionally and share documents through attachments.

Email can also work together with cloud storage when sharing documents and other files.

πŸ“Š Introduction to Microsoft Excel

I also continued my introduction to Microsoft Excel.

Excel is a spreadsheet application that can be used to organize and work with data.

It provides a structure of rows, columns and cells, making it useful for recording information and performing calculations.

I'm looking forward to practicing Excel more because I know that data organization and analysis are important digital skills.

🧠 My Key Takeaway

Today's lesson helped me understand that our files don't always have to stay on one physical device.

With cloud storage, we can store, organize, retrieve and share information online.

But having access to files anywhere also comes with responsibility: we must protect our accounts and control who has access to our information.

As I continue this journey, I'm realizing that digital skills are not just about knowing how to use softwareβ€”they are also about managing information effectively and responsibly.
