The Perfect Match”
In Zaria, Alhaji Bello was looking for a second wife. After many meetings, he finally found one he liked, a beautiful, quiet, and hardworking lady from Kano.
On the day he brought her home, he proudly introduced her to his first wife, Hajiya Rabi.
“This is my new wife,” he said with a big smile. “She is very respectful, she doesn’t talk too much, and she knows how to cook perfectly.”
Hajiya Rabi looked at the young woman, smiled sweetly, and said:
“Welcome my dear. I hope you last longer than the last three.”
Alhaji Bello quickly changed the topic: “Let’s eat! She cooked tuwo and miyar kuka today.”
They all sat down. The new wife served the food. Alhaji Bello took one spoon, coughed, and drank water immediately.
Hajiya Rabi tasted it and said calmly:
“My sister… did you put salt or you just showed the salt the pot?”
The new wife looked embarrassed. Alhaji Bello tried to defend her:
“It’s not that bad. She will learn with time.”
Hajiya Rabi laughed and replied:
“Bello, this is the same thing you said about the last one. Now she’s gone and this one is even worse. Next time, marry a cook, not just a beautiful face!”
Alhaji Bello quietly pushed his plate away and said:
“Tomorrow we are eating out.”🤣
Moral:Beauty may catch the eye, but good food keeps the marriage alive. 😂
