"When I was living in America (New York), a letter came to me in the mail (stating I committed a traffic violation..that I ran a red light on such and such street, at such hour, on such day)..
And they ask you in the letter a number of questions..
Do you acknowledge this violation or not?
Do you have any objection?
The fine was about $150.
And because I do not remember whether I ran the red light or not, nor do I know the exact names of the streets in the State.. I replied to them: “Yes, I have an objection.. I am not sure that I went on this road.. nor am I sure I ran a red light.”
A week later, I received a letter with three photos taken of my car:
One before crossing the traffic lights when it already turned red.
The second one when I was in the middle of the traffic light while it was red.
And the third one, after I passed the traffic light by one meter while it was still red!
So basically I was caught red-handed and there was no escape (nor excuses) .. The photos were conclusive evidence (against me) !
I paid the $150 after I admitted to the traffic violation and fell silent.
Then one day while I was reading "Surat Al Jathiya" and I was reminded again of this incident and the violation I committed when I reached Allah's Words "
" This Our Record speaks about you with truth. Verily, We were recording what you used to do (i.e. Our angels used to record your deeds). "
(Al Jathiya V. 29)
That is, Allah Almighty has records of what humans did in the life of this world! This excerpt from the verse:
" إنا كنا نستنسخ ما كنتم تعملون"...
"We were recording what you used to do"
.. I was stunned, shivering, and felt fear of Allah!
Ya Allah.. this is a camera that was man-made, and no one can escape or flee from it, so how about the recording and registering of our deeds by the LORD of the people, where is the escape now?
This is the recording of our deeds:
In a Book that does not make a mistake nor forget. Kept in a safe place.. It is not damaged by climatic factors, such as hurricanes, winds or rain. It is neither stolen nor pirated.
Ya Allah.. all sins are reproduced and recorded: With its dates.. its facts.. its people.. its place.. its time.. its colors.. its goals.. its circumstances.. its backgrounds.. its motives..
All recorded, audio and video. And by their INTENTIONS as well..
He, Glory be to Him, knows best the treachery of the eyes and what the breasts conceal.
That is, he knows what man-made cameras cannot record or catch ! All this will be presented to man on the Day of Resurrection, Ya Allah!
" وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَا وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا الْكِتَابِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّا أَحْصَاهَا ۚ وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا ۗ وَلَا يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا" ..
And the record ˹of deeds˺ will be laid ˹open˺, and you will see the wicked in fear of what is ˹written˺ in it. They will cry, “Woe to us! What kind of record is this that does not leave any sin, small or large, unlisted?” They will find whatever they did present ˹before them˺. And your Lord will never wrong anyone.
