This pepper has really been surprising me! 🌱🌶️
Here’s a local pepper seed we got from a Fulani farmer in our area. We collected it for a little practical experiment between myself and another farmer.

What surprised me most was that the other farmer complained that his seeds didn’t germinate.
I decided to split mine into two batches — one nursery at home and the other at the farm.
At home, I was able to give the seedlings close attention every day. I also mixed the soil with cow dung and prepared the nursery two weeks before establishing the one at the farm.

Today, I transplanted the home-nursed seedlings, while the farm nursery is only two weeks old.
Now look closely. 👀

The first 3 pictures are from the farm nursery, while the last 3 pictures are from the home nursery.
Can you spot the difference?

Sometimes, the seed is not the only factor. Nursery preparation, timing, soil condition, moisture, and daily attention can make a huge difference.

This little experiment is already teaching me a lot. 🌱
