SOMEONE SENT THIS TO ME AND I'M REALLY CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK…
“Please, I need honest advice…”
💔 “AM I WRONG FOR HIDING MY SALARY FROM MY HUSBAND?”
> “Please, I need honest advice because I don't know if I'm being selfish.”
I have been married for 6 years. My husband earns much more than I do, and he pays the rent, school fees and most of the household bills.
But whenever I receive my salary, he expects me to give him every single naira.
At first, I didn't mind because I thought marriage meant sharing everything. But recently, I discovered that he has been secretly sending money to his younger sister every month without telling me.
When I asked him about it, he said, “It's my money. I can do whatever I want with it.”
I didn't argue.
But last month, I kept part of my salary in a separate account without telling him.
Yesterday, he asked me for my bank statement and I refused.
Now he's calling me unfaithful, selfish and disrespectful, saying a wife should have nothing to hide from her husband.
But I'm thinking… if his money is his money, why isn't my money mine too?
Am I wrong for keeping part of my salary for myself?
And please, don't just say “leave your husband.” 😂
I want to know: Should married couples have completely separate money, or should everything belong to both partners?
Now I'm handing this one over to you. 😂👇🏽
WHO IS WRONG HERE — THE HUSBAND OR THE WIFE?
