I tried calling hubby but his line wasn't reachable, "maybe his busy at work" I thought to myself as I still kept calling him, fortunately he picked at my last trial. "Honey what's up? you gave me 38 missed calls! what's happening??" My husband asked immediately he picked. "Your mum is here and you know what that means??" I replied sadly, "oh my gosh!, she didn't inform me she was coming", "why you sounding like you don't know your mum again? she always come unannounced, but the main problem now is that she has been feeding me with many types of insülts because I don't have a child of my own, "whaaaaaat????" My husband shouted as he hung up the call and drove straight to the house.
There was a heated argument between my hubby and his mum, his mum kept insülting me deeply as I couldn't control myself anymore, I was this kind of person that can't bear insülts for long, I burst into tears immediately. "Mum why are you this wicked??, you have been so cruel to my wife even when she did absolutely nothing to you, I have kept quiet for a long time because of the respect I have for you, but this time I will not. Is she God that provides children??, Answer me mum! Is she???" My husband shouted at his mum in anger.
"Wow! So you have grown wings chinedu??, You now shout on me because this your ogbaje of a wife abi?, No problem!, I will leave, but the next time I will come back to this house, I will bring a second wife for you!!" My mother inlaw made her statement clear as she parked her things and left immediately, I cried uncontrollably as my husband kept consoling me.
The next day, I was on my way to the market to go buy some foodstuffs when I saw a little boy lying helplessly on the road, I came down from my car immediately as I couldn't stand seeing the boy in such a condition. I walked to towards him, without asking any question, I drove him to a nearby eatery and bought many foodstuffs for him as he started devouring the food like someone who haven't perceive the aroma of food for a year, I felt pity on him as I thought of taking him to my house to live with me for sometimes before taking him to the orphanage, or better still, adopt him as my son.
"Don't bother yourself with what you are thinking now, it won't be possible" the boy said as he continued eating his food, "how did you know what I was thinking?" I asked curiously, "don't bother my dear, since you showed me love by buying all this for me to eat, I will also show you love by telling you the cause and solution of the problem you are facing now" the boy continued his strange words.
"How do you know am facing a problem" I asked again as I was getting scared, "everyone has his or her own problems, but yours is because you can't give birth!"
I was so shocked when the little boy mentioned exactly what my problem was.
"it's not like you have a problem with your womb, go back to your house and ask your husband who he made a convenant with! The little boy stated
"Convenant how??" I asked as I was already confused
"No more questions ma, just do as I have said" the little boy said as I watched him leaving the empty plate, I rushed out but couldn't see him again
In the night while I and hubby were watching a Netflix movie, I stylishly brought about the discussion of blood convenant, but my hubby faked a cough and left me all alone in the couch to the bedroom, that was when I knew the little boy wasn't lieing either, I thought of a plan, I bought sweet palm wine for my husband the next night and made him drink more than usual, when I was sure he was fully drunk, I started asking him some crucial questions, just as I wanted it, he opened up to me, I was made to realize that my husband made a blood convenant with his ex lover that if there should leave each other without death serperating them, none of them would have a child of their own. I burst into tears as my husband confessed everything to me, the painful part was that, he knew he cause of our childlessness but allow his mother to reign curses on me.
I told him everything that happened last night, he was so shocked and sorry at the same time as he apologized immediately and begged for forgiveness.
What could I do, I forgave him as we started looking for solutions to break the convenant, but before then, my husband spoke to his ex lover whom also was süffering from childlessness. She and her husband together with I and my husband started looking for solutions to break the convenant, we were directed us to a dibia whom people called the strongest dibia of that community, he was well known for breaking convenant as well.
We got to his shrine as we were made to pull of our shoes and sit on a sacred mat, honestly I wasn't comfortable with the environment but what could I do?, I just wanted my problems to be resolved.
"Hmmmm.....!, This is a serious case, this is not just a blood convenant but a serious one at that, the two of you invited the spirit of the three unfortunate Virgins of your community as a witness that very day, am I lieing????" The dibia said.
"You are not sir" my husband replied
"There is no much process in breaking the convenant, it requires just a sacrifice before we can proceed with anything" the dibia continued
"Name any type of animal sir, we will bring it to you for the sacrifice" my husband ex lover replied.
" And who told you the three unfortunate Virgins eats animals??, You must be joking" I dibia said as he laughed loudly
"I don't understand you sir, make us understand better" I replied curiously.
"Before we can proceed in the breaking of the convenant, one of them, I mean the two ex lovers that made the convenant, one of them must be buried alive to appease the spirits of the three unfortunate virgins" the dibia stated.
