always think twice
Grace stared blankly at the crumbling walls of her family's small apartment in Port Harcourt. She had dropped out of school a year ago, convinced that she could make a better living on her own. Her parents, though disappointed, had reluctantly supported her decision.
At first, Grace had been optimistic. She landed a job as a salesgirl at a local market in Aba, where she could earn a decent income. But the work was grueling, and the pay was meager. She barely made enough to cover her expenses, let alone send money back to her family.
One fateful night, after a particularly long day at the market, Grace met a charming young man named Emmanuel. He was handsome, charismatic, and seemed to have a promising future ahead of him. They started dating, and Grace found herself swept up in the romance.
But their relationship was short-lived. Emmanuel turned out to be unreliable and dishonest, leaving Grace heartbroken and pregnant. She was devastated. How could she have been so naive?
With a baby on the way, Grace's financial struggles intensified. She could no longer work at the market, and her parents were too poor to support her. She felt trapped, with no clear path forward.
As she sat in her small apartment, surrounded by the bleak reality of her situation, Grace couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She had been receiving strange messages on her phone, warning her to stay away from Emmanuel.
Suddenly, she heard a knock at the door. Grace's heart skipped a beat as she hesitated, wondering who it could be. She cautiously made her way to the door and peered through the peephole.
Her blood ran cold as she saw Emmanuel standing outside, a sly grin spreading across his face. What did he want? And why was he here?
Grace's mind racing, she slowly opened the door, unsure of what lay ahead...
