An Enugu-bound aircraft reportedly crash landed at Benin Airport this afternoon at about 2:00 PM.

According to residents living near the airport, the incident occurred approximately 2pm. Eyewitnesses said security personnel were deployed to the area to restrict access and maintain order around the airport.

Authorities have confirmed that there were *no casualties* recorded in the incident. The cause of the emergency landing is yet to be confirmed as investigations are ongoing.

*BREAKING: Edo Gets Special Court for Cultism, Kidnapping Cases*

The Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, has approved the creation of a special court to fast-track cases involving cultism and kidnapping.

The move follows a June 19 request from Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The court, named “Special Criminal Court 1,” will begin sitting on July 1, 2026, in Benin City, the state capital.

Gov. Okpebholo had earlier vowed to sign death warrants for anyone convicted of cult-related killings or kidnapping, with ex*****on to be carried out by hanging.
