Poet: Bright Osarere ( Humanist Rutherford ).

Author of 'Mental Grave And A Cry For A Rustic HOME'.

Author Bio:
Bright Osarere is a published Poet and Author, Cyber security expert and immigration consultant in the USA.

Recently certified by Harvard University, he published his fast-selling poetry book in May 2025.

Bright is one of the poets that will be live on X on October 1st to discuss the revival of African Poetry on x.com/Perezonduty

About the book:

'Mental Grave and a cry for a rustic home' is an anthology that contains 61 poems. The Poet has written a masterpiece that deserves global recognition, and should be one of the anthologies to be celebrated on world poetry day.

In the poem 'The Poor Worker', the poet prophesy the revolution of AI and how it's gradually becoming the new world order in the global job market.

Readers and lovers of poetry should go and buy this work, because it's worth reading! The lines on each poem are like liquid gold poured out from the book...

In another poem on the anthology titled, 'I was once Loved', the poet paints the picture of innocence transiting to fear and insecurity, which is the present situation in the world. With a war in Europe and more threats of war, the world which was once a place where security and tranquility did exist, has recently given way for chaos.

All 61 poems on the anthology will leave you with lots of questions, but you will find answers also as you go through each poem. You can buy the book on Amazon here: https://amzn.in/d/jekce0k

Poet Name: Dr. Dowell Oba Dowell Oba
Award-Winning Poet/ Lecturer, KolaDaisi University, Ibadan.

Bio:

Dr. Dowell Oba is a distinguished scholar, poet, and literary critic whose groundbreaking work bridges the gap between traditional African literary heritage and contemporary global discourse. As a lecturer at KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, Dr. Oba has established himself as a leading voice in African literary studies, specialising in postcolonial literature, literary theory, and the dynamic intersection of literature with popular culture and mass media.

His pioneering methodology, "Critical Contextualism," offers a revolutionary framework for analysing African literature that places African-specific contexts at the forefront of literary interpretation, challenging conventional Western analytical approaches.

Dr. Oba's scholarly journey culminated in a PhD in Literature Theory and Criticism from the University of Ibadan in 2022, where his doctoral thesis explored scatological images of politics in postcolonial African novels—a work that demonstrates his fearless engagement with complex political narratives in African literature.

His publications span prestigious international journals, including his recent work in African Identities on "Afropolitanism, Universalism, and the Reimagining of African Literature," which redefines how we understand African literature's global resonance while maintaining its local authenticity.

Beyond the academia, Dr. Oba is an accomplished poet whose creative works have graced international anthologies and earned him multiple accolades, including victories in the VoicesNet International Writing Contest and the Creative Writers' Award for Excellence at the University of Benin.

His poetry collection Ocean Tide, published by AuthorHouse USA, reflects his ability to weave personal narrative with universal themes, embodying the very essence of what it means to revive and sustain African poetic traditions in a globalised world.

Birthday Letter To My God.

Dear God,

It's my birthday 🎉,

First, I must thank You

For carrying me through

These waters of Mara

I have seen over the years!

I know I am not your best

Child, but I am the best version

Of myself for You, for now,

I have been through

Betrayals and I still

Smile with many Judases,

And I am okay with the game.

Dear God,

I don't deserve the extravagant

Mercies You have shown me,

I have passed through dark

Waters that makes me tell

Fear hello...

Dear God,

Thank You

For giving me good people

That gave me help in the wilderness that

Real men must pass to the kingdom đź‘‘

They are the ones who still

Make me want to share my best

With the earth.

Thank You also for bad people

Around me with doings

In the dark, and I know them...

 they are the ones

That have forged my heart

Tough like a rock, so that

I can offer humanity two sides,

Help me forgive them so that joy wins...

Dear Sweet God,

Thank You for joy, thank You

For pain...

Thank You for holding

My hands in the darkest tunnels

Of life, where others wave me

Goodbye, You tell me

'Let's go'...

You alone consoles me in the sun,

The night, the pit, and even walk

With me through hell...

Dear Good God,

I might not be Your best yet,

But you are the best for me, and,

Thank You for the age of royalty

I have entered...

It's not easy to be me,

Because I am a complex case,

A rough diamond đź’Ž now refined...

I am grateful I can lift

My head and stretch my heart

To You: THE REAL ORIGINAL,

THE ODOGWU WITH THE

CAPITAL LETTERS (TRUE

GOD FROM TRUE GOD).

With Undying ❤️ Love,

From Your Son,

Perez Williams NwaMuonso (aka DEmpire).
