CEREMONIAL AWARENESS & GENERAL INVITATION

The Management, Executive Committee, and the President’s Valedictory Sports Festival Committee of Benin Recreation Club 1933 respectfully invite all distinguished members to the *President’s Valedictory Sports Festival*, a grand sporting and social event organized in honour of our outgoing President, in appreciation of his meritorious service, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the progress of the Club.

*The event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 10th January, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. prompt, at the various sectional venues.*

The festival shall feature a variety of competitive sporting activities, with all sections of the Club actively and uniquely engaged in different competitions. These activities are designed to promote unity, healthy rivalry, and sportsmanship among members.

At the climax of the day’s activities, all members shall come together as one in the main evening event, *with Arrival/Red Carpet at 5:00 p.m. and the Main Event commencing at 6:00 p.m. prompt,* where winners from the various competitions will be honoured and presented with awards, alongside other highlights marking the valedictory celebration.

Members are earnestly encouraged to participate fully and turn out in large numbers to support this historic occasion, celebrate excellence, and give our President a befitting and memorable send-forth.

We anticipate your valued participation and presence.

🎾 Honouring a True Tennis Icon 🎾

Today, the Benin Recreation Club - BRC Tennis Section, led by Captain Engr. Kingsley Iroh, in collaboration with the Benin Club Tennis, led by Captain Chinedu Osele, joined the rest of the Nigerian tennis family to honour the late Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, former President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).

In line with the national directive by NTUA and NTF, all tennis nets were lowered at exactly 12 noon, and a minute of silence was observed in solemn respect for a man whose life and leadership greatly advanced tennis in Nigeria.

May his legacy continue to inspire passion, unity, and excellence in the sport we all love.

The 1st Edition of Deacon Chief Paul Ossai's Birthday Table Tennis Championship was a thrilling success!
Held on July 25th & 26th at Benin Recreation Club - BRC, the event brought together lovers of the sport, club members, and distinguished guests in honour of a man whose contributions to our section cannot be overstated.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM A MEMORABLE EVENING AT BRC! 🏓

On Saturday, 12th July 2025, Benin Recreation Club Table Tennis Section proudly played host to a distinguished guest — Mr. Ama-Ebi Wilson Ebikpolade, Chairman of the Bayelsa State Table Tennis Association, Technical Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Sports Development, and South-South Representative on the Board of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation.

Mr. Ebikpolade was warmly received on behalf of the President, Mr. Osayi Osamuyi Courage, by the Honourable Secretary, Mr. Markus McKane Okoebor, supported by members of the Executive Committee and vibrant leadership of the Table Tennis and Billiards Section.

Special thanks to the amazing Barr. U. L. Uwagie, the dedicated Captain of the Table Tennis Section, whose efforts and coordination helped make the visit a grand success.

A thrilling demonstration match by the Top 4 players from the BRC Table Tennis Ladder Ranking System captivated all in attendance, showcasing the depth of talent and growing energy in the section.

The evening was rounded off with light refreshments and engaging interactions, as members and guests shared thoughts on sports development, club culture, and regional collaboration.

Mr. Ebikpolade expressed his admiration for BRC’s welcoming spirit and exceptional facilities, reinforcing the Club’s status as a leading recreational hub in the South-South.
