I AM A POET!

I am a poet, just like you! I have episodes of poems sitting idly in a dusty shelf, and volumes of virgin poems, yet untouched in my minds eyes.
Sometimes I fear my own power, because my poems even mean more than I consciously intend them to. Yes at times I recite one or two poems to friends. But they never fully understand, or ever hardly criticize.
Today with my quill in my hand, and my heart in my chest, I let out a Clarion call to all you poets. Let’s come together! , and drown in the seas of our own WORDS

EXPRESSION
Lets take a second to analyze the concept of "expression". What is the most effective means that one could express one's ideas and desires, fantancies and romance, lust and love, disappointment and excitement. There must be tons of expressive meduims. But in MCC we consider poetry to be the foremost.
Maybe its because of its subtleness, or its ability to hide meanings, or its engendering spirit to convey so much in so little. Or maybe because we are held captive by the ubiquitous powers of something we do not fully understand.

Come poetry day in the university of Benin, we shall dive into this aqua of Expression

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.And medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are what we stay alive for.

To His Coy Mistress

Monte cristo's castle seeks to explain the true meaning of the word beautiful. It seeks to show the world the edges of the word talent.
Musicians are blessed and talented, comedians are heavily talented too, actors and actresses are exceptional, but is this all about talents?
What about the poets that lives next door, what about the photographer that captured your sisters wedding in a splupic manner. What about the hair stylist that you travel to meet. What about the tailor that could put these beautiful Ankara testiles together? What about that crazy artist that can paint the world even when he his blind folded? What about that traffic warden, in rain or sun he always keep the vehicles moving swiftly. What about that mechanic that worked on your old car and made it a Knight rider. And what about the cook that can make fish pepe soup more important than your education. What about the talent in you? And the talent in me? We are all great, beautiful, unique in our own various ways, talents and skills and once in a while we do deserve noble appreciation for our life long sacrifices.
And that's where Monte Cristo's Castle comes in, we seek to harness talents and even bring out hidden once. For the holy book said " a man who is skilled in his work will perform before kings and not mere men".
In doing this stressful yet great And beautiful work, we do not only appreciate people, but we make students, apprentices, work boys e.t.c, focus listen and learn to be better. For if we all are skillful and talented in our various fairs of life, we would be able to build a societal structure that twelve atomic bombs won't be able to distroy .

OK its high time we put dignity where it belongs, which is by the left side of labour.
