REJOINDER FROM THE OFFICE OF DR. SYLVA AFE OSHIOKPEKHAI
NDC Leader, Edo State
The attention of the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edo State Chapter, under the stewardship of Dr. Sylva Afe Oshiokpekhai, has been drawn to reports and circulating claims suggesting the endorsement of certain aspirants by the State leadership.
For the avoidance of doubt, and in the interest of transparency, fairness, and party unity, Dr. Sylva Afe Oshiokpekhai wishes to categorically state as follows:
No Official Endorsement Issued:
At no time has the State leadership of the NDC, under Dr. Sylva Afe Oshiokpekhai, formally endorsed or adopted any aspirant for any elective position. Any claim to the contrary is misleading and should be disregarded by party members and the general public.
Commitment to Internal Democracy:
The NDC in Edo State remains firmly committed to the principles of internal democracy, due process, and equal opportunity for all aspirants. The party’s established guidelines and constitutional provisions will be strictly adhered to in determining candidates.
Neutrality of Leadership:
As a unifying figure within the party, Dr. Oshiokpekhai maintains a position of neutrality to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants. This stance is essential in preserving the integrity and cohesion of the party.
