🍽️❀️ EAT AT LEAST ONE MEAL TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
Family meals are about more than just food. They create an opportunity for parents and children to connect, communicate, and enjoy each other's company.
Whenever possible, try to have at least one meal together without phones, television, or other distractions.
During the meal, you can:
πŸ—£οΈ Ask your child about their day.
πŸ‘‚ Listen to their stories.
πŸ˜‚ Share jokes and laugh together.
πŸ™ Give thanks for the meal.
❀️ Talk about things happening in the family.
🌱 Teach good table manners and gratitude.
You don't need a perfect dining table or an expensive meal. Even a simple meal can become a special family moment.
πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:
Choose one meal today and make it family time.
Put the phones away, sit together, and simply talk.
❀️ Parenting Reminder: Sometimes the ordinary momentsβ€”eating, talking, laughing, and listeningβ€”become the memories children treasure most.
πŸ’¬ Does your family usually eat together? What is your favourite family meal? πŸ‘‡

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 10 🌟

🧠❀️ TEACH YOUR CHILD TO SOLVE PROBLEMS CALMLY

Children will face disagreements, disappointments, and frustrating situations. We can't prevent every problem, but we can teach them how to respond to problems in a healthy way.

Instead of teaching them to shout, hit, blame, or give up, help them learn to:

πŸ›‘ Pause β€” Take a moment before reacting.

🌬️ Calm down β€” Take a few slow breaths and give yourself time to think.

πŸ—£οΈ Explain the problem β€” Encourage them to use words to express what happened and how they feel.

πŸ’ Think of solutions β€” Ask, "What could we do differently?"

🀝 Choose a solution β€” Help them understand that problems can often be solved without hurting or disrespecting others.

And remember, children learn emotional control by watching us. When we handle our own frustrations calmly, we're teaching them an important lesson without even saying a word.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:

The next time your child becomes frustrated, don't rush to solve everything for them.

Instead, calmly ask:

"What happened?"

"How are you feeling?"

"What can we do to make this better?"

❀️ Parenting Reminder: The goal isn't to raise children who never get angry. It's to help them learn what to do when they are angry.

πŸ’¬ What do you usually do when your child becomes frustrated?

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 9 🌟

πŸ“±πŸŽ¨ SET HEALTHY SCREEN-TIME LIMITS

Phones, tablets, television, and video games can be useful and enjoyable, but children also need time to play, explore, create, and interact with the people around them.

Instead of making screen time the only source of entertainment, help your child find a healthy balance.

Try encouraging:

🎨 Drawing, colouring, and painting
πŸ“š Reading books
🧩 Puzzles and board games
⚽ Outdoor games and physical activities
🎡 Singing, dancing, or playing an instrument
πŸ§‘β€πŸ³ Helping with simple household activities
🌱 Gardening or exploring nature

πŸ’‘ The goal isn't to ban screens completely. It's to create healthy boundaries and make room for other important parts of childhood.

❀️ Today's Parenting Challenge

Choose one period today when everyone puts their screens away.

Use that time to talk, play, read, create, or simply spend time together.

And remember: children learn from what they see. If you want them to put their screens down sometimes, be willing to put yours down too. 😊

πŸ’¬ What activity would your child choose if there were no screens for one hour?

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 8 🌟

🌳⚽ ENCOURAGE OUTDOOR PLAY

Children need more than books and screens. Outdoor play gives them an opportunity to move, explore, discover, and simply have fun.

Encourage your child to:

⚽ Play football or other outdoor games.
🚢 Go for a family walk.
πŸͺ Fly a kite.
🌱 Help in the garden.
🚲 Ride a bicycle or play active games.
🌞 Spend time exploring nature.

Outdoor activities can support physical fitness, coordination, social skills, and emotional well-being.

And the best part? You can join them! ❀️

You don't need an expensive outing. A simple game outside, a walk around the compound, or exploring nature together can become a wonderful family memory.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:

Put the screens aside for a little while today and spend some time outdoors with your child.

πŸ“΅ Less screen time.
🌳 More fresh air.
πŸƒ More movement.
❀️ More family time.

πŸ’¬ What's your child's favourite outdoor activity? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 7 🌟

πŸ‘€β€οΈ BE THE EXAMPLE YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO FOLLOW

Children are always watching usβ€”even when we think they aren't.

If you want your child to be respectful, show respect.

If you want your child to speak kindly, speak kindly.

If you want your child to be honest, be honest.

If you want your child to be patient, practise patience.

If you want your child to apologise when they make a mistake, be willing to apologise too.

Parenting isn't only about telling children what to do. Our everyday actions teach them what behaviour looks like.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:

Ask yourself:

"If my child copied my behaviour today, would I be proud of what they learned?"

Don't aim for perfection. We all make mistakes. What matters is being willing to recognise them, correct them, and keep learning.

❀️ Remember: Your child may not remember every lesson you taught them, but they are likely to remember the example you gave them.

πŸ’¬ What is one quality you want your child to learn from you?

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 6 🌟

πŸ™ TEACH YOUR CHILD GOOD MANNERS

Teaching children to say "Please," "Thank you," and "Sorry" is not just about good manners. It's about helping them learn respect, gratitude, responsibility, and consideration for others.

Teach them to say:

πŸ™ "Please" when asking for something.

❀️ "Thank you" when someone helps them or gives them something.

🀝 "Sorry" when they have genuinely hurt or wronged someone.

But remember: don't just demand the words. Teach them the meaning behind them.

For example, instead of forcing your child to say sorry immediately, help them understand what happened:

"Your words hurt your friend. How do you think they feel? What can you do to make things right?"

And most importantly, model these behaviours yourself. Children learn a lot by watching their parents.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:

Use "please," "thank you," and sincere apologies around your child today. Let them see that good manners are for everyoneβ€”not just children.

❀️ Remember: We are not only raising children who know good manners; we are raising adults who know how to respect and care for others.

πŸ’¬ What good manner did you learn from your parents that you still practise today?

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 5 🌟
πŸ‘‚β€οΈ LISTEN WITHOUT INTERRUPTING
When your child comes to you to talk, try to give them your full attention.
Sometimes they aren't looking for a solution. They simply want to feel heard.
πŸ“΅ Put your phone down.
πŸ‘€ Look at them while they speak.
🀫 Avoid interrupting.
❀️ Don't immediately judge or criticize.
πŸ’¬ Ask questions when they're finished.
Even when what they're saying seems small to you, it may be very important to them.
When children feel that they can talk to their parents without immediately being dismissed or judged, they are more likely to share their worries, mistakes, experiences, and feelings.
πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:
Give your child a few minutes today and simply say:
"I'm listening. Tell me what happened."
Then listenβ€”not to prepare your response, but to understand your child.
❀️ Remember: Sometimes the best parenting advice is simply to stop, listen, and be present.
πŸ’¬ Question for parents:
When your child wants to talk, do you usually listen first or start giving advice immediately? πŸ‘‡

πŸ“š 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 4 πŸ“š

❀️ READ A BOOK TOGETHER

You don't need expensive toys or complicated activities to support your child's development.

Sometimes, all you need is a book and 15 minutes together.

Reading with your child can help them:

🧠 Develop language and vocabulary
πŸ‘‚ Improve listening skills
πŸ’ Use their imagination
πŸ“– Develop a love for learning
❀️ Build a stronger bond with you

And don't worry if your child wants to hear the same story again and again! Repetition can actually help children learn new words and understand stories better.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:

Choose a book your child enjoys, put away distractions, sit together, and let your child participate.

Ask questions like:

πŸ‘‰ "What do you think will happen next?"
πŸ‘‰ "Which character do you like?"
πŸ‘‰ "What did we learn from the story?"

You don't need to be a perfect storyteller. Your child simply needs your presence. ❀️

πŸ’¬ Do you have a favourite book you enjoy reading with your child? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 3 🌟

πŸ‘ Praise Your Child's Effort, Not Just Their Achievement

As parents, it's natural to celebrate when our children get excellent grades, win competitions, or accomplish something impressive.

But don't forget to celebrate the effort behind the achievement.

Instead of only saying:
❌ "You got the highest score! You're so smart!"

Try saying:
❀️ "I saw how hard you worked for this. I'm proud of your effort!"

Encourage your child when they:

πŸ“š Keep studying even when the work is difficult.
✏️ Try again after making a mistake.
🧩 Keep working on a challenging problem.
🎨 Practise and improve their skills.
πŸ’ͺ Don't give up when things become difficult.

This teaches children that progress comes from learning, practice, patience, and persistenceβ€”not just from being "the best."

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:
Catch your child making an effort today and tell them specifically what you noticed.

"I saw you didn't give up. That's something to be proud of." ❀️

πŸ’¬ What effort has your child made recently that made you proud?

🌟 30 DAYS OF PARENTING TIPS – DAY 2 🌟

❀️ Give Your Child 15 Minutes of Your Undivided Attention

You don't always need to spend hours with your child to make them feel loved and valued.

Sometimes, 15 minutes of genuine, uninterrupted attention can make a big difference.

πŸ“΅ Put your phone away.
πŸ‘€ Look at your child when they speak.
πŸ‘‚ Listen to what they have to say.
πŸ“– Read a story together.
🎲 Play a simple game.
πŸ’¬ Ask them about their day.
πŸ€— Give them a hug.

The goal isn't the activityβ€”it's your presence.

When children regularly experience positive attention from their parents, it can strengthen your relationship and give them a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings.

πŸ’‘ Today's Parenting Challenge:
Give your child 15 minutes today with no phone, no TV, and no distractions.

Just you and your child. ❀️

πŸ’¬ What would you choose for your 15 minutesβ€”reading, playing, talking, or simply cuddling?
