One of the beautiful things that happened to Alayi community in recent times is the return of our AGE GRADE SYSTEM .

I was so happy seeing different age grades fully represented in the 2025 Alayi Day Celebration.

You see, Age grade System in Alayi is a traditional structure that groups people of similar age to work together for the progress of our community.

It is one of the strongest foundations of unity, discipline, and development in a land.

Most of the developments we’ve enjoyed in Alayi before the reemergence of the Age grade system were made possible by the former age grades.

Through this present age grade system, Alayi has achieved many community projects, maintained public facilities, supported cultural festivals, and promoted peace and order.

It has also trained our young people in leadership, responsibility, and service, preparing them to become future leaders of the community.

One of the most important thing about Age grades is that it strengthens unity among members by promoting mutual support in times of joy and difficulty.

They also help preserve our culture, values, and respect for elders, which are gradually being lost in modern times.

Today, the age grade system is more important than ever. It will help engage our youths positively, reduce social vices, support community security, and serve as a bridge between the people and community leadership.

The age grade system is not just a tradition but a vital tool for development and continuity.

By strengthening it, we strengthen the future.

There’s nothing diabolical about Age grades,
Age grades is not a religious organization,
It has nothing to do with your faith or what you worship,
Age grades is part of who we are.

There are a lot of Age grades both in Amankalu and Akoliufu Alayi

We held the 4th edition of our WIDOWS LOVE program. It’s a yearly program initiated with some of my brothers and sisters, a chance for us to spend time with our mothers at home, discuss with them, dance with them and share the much we have for them.

It’s always a happy moment for us because we don’t always get to spend such time with them.

This year…
We had Joy,
We had Fun,
We had seasons in the sun😁
