Upcoming actors, please keep working on your acting prowess. Keep learning, rehearsing, improving your delivery, studying characters, and becoming better at your craft.
Stop spending all your energy going to producers, directors, and celebrities DM's asking them to give you an opportunity. Yes networking is important, but desperation should never replace preparation.
If you truly want to become an actor, go for auditions, put yourself in rooms where your talent can actually be tested, let your performance speak for you.
The truth is, a producer or director may not be able to give you a role simply because you sent a DM. They need to know what you can do, and auditions are one of the best ways for them to discover that.
And please be careful. When people notice that you're extremely desperate for an opportunity, some may want to take advantage of your desperation by making inappropriate demands or making false promises.
Don't let your hunger for an opportunity make you lose your dignity.
Prepare yourself: attend auditions. Build your skills. Create where you can. Network professionally. Be patient.
Your opportunity may not come today, but make sure when it comes you're ready for it.
