Today July 14, 2021. Over 400 newly admitted students of UofA matriculated for the 2020/2021 Academic session on the Main Campus. Eventful and glamorous day for all of them. UofA-SRGBV Response Team celebrated with them, indulge and sensitize them about on prevention and reporting any form of gender based violence and sexual harassment on UofA campus.

Here in University of Abuja, Response Team of the Students' Related Gender Based Violence (UOFA-SRGBV) have continually made sure we increase the steady conversation why GBV and Sexual Harassment should have no place in our campus. We continue to advocate and sensitize students to speak up whenever they face or experience any form of sexual or gender based violence. BREAK THE SILENCE IN UofA!

Getting required and extensive knowledge and skills on preventing sexual assault/harassment is "Proactive Bystander"

Accessing and getting informed with safer methods of approach to repost cases, making sure you are causing no harm to victims of sexual harassment or gender based violence.

Effective Community Proactive Bystander; Sensitizing the community at large of the need why they must be vigilant and be their brother's keeper and protect themselves from gender based violence, this changes the social norm in communities.

Gender mobile emphasized on Proactive Bystanders moving from inaction to steady action and results.

The official Launch of Gender Mainstreaming Training Manual for higher Institutions (FCT, Sokoto State & Lagos State) Under the EU Funded spotlight initiative. A Gender and Transformative Leadership Curriculum Document adapted to suit the current requirement for tackling Gender Based Violence. Including the use of the UNESCO-SI manual on eliminating sexual and gender based violence and harmful practices and enhancing sexual and reproductive health rights.
