Senator Diket Plang RECEIVES THE PRESTIGIOUS PLATEAU MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD AS "SENATOR OF THE YEAR 2024". 16th February 2025.

The Plateau Central Senator Diket Plang, who serves as the Senate Committee Chairman on Labour, Employment, and Productivity and also Vice Chairman of Federal Character, has been conferred with the Meritorious Plateau Man of the Year award as "The Senator of the Year 2024".

The award conferred on Senator Diket Plang was in recognition of his exemplary service, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Plateau Central Senatorial district.

The award additionally recognized Senator Diket Plang's strength in delivering legislative excellence, infrastructural development, and social empowerment targeted at his constituency.

The prestigious award was received on behalf of the distinguished Senator Diket Plang by Dr. Evng Sam Mbok (Senior Legislative Aide to Sen. Diket Plang) at the Crispan Event Center, Jos.

Chief Engr. Meshach Congo Maichibi, the Asset Manager of West Hub at Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), with over three decades of experience in Oil & Gas, has emerged as the winner of the Nigeria Service Award. His nomination, driven by public acclaim, was confirmed by the award's jury panel after a thorough online voting process held from July 14 to September 4, 2024.

Maichibi’s illustrious career with Shell, which began in 1993, has seen him rise from Operations Supervisor to managing a team responsible for delivering 160kboepd across integrated oil and gas facilities. His expertise spans key sectors like HSSE, Production, and Asset Management, in both Nigeria and Malaysia.

Set to be awarded on November 9, 2024, in Abuja, Maichibi is widely celebrated for his leadership in process safety, operational excellence, and youth empowerment. He is the driving force behind several community projects, including youth education grants, small business support, and sports development through his foundation and personal enterprises.

Recognized as a "General" in Nigeria’s Oil & Gas industry, Maichibi has consistently led his asset to exceed performance targets, winning Shell Nigeria’s Safety & Environmental Platinum Awards from 2018 to 2020. His contributions extend beyond the oil fields, with substantial support for faith-based initiatives and skills acquisition programs aimed at improving the lives of women, youth, widows, and orphans across Nigeria.
