Sanusi said the deceased’s missing mobile phone provided a major lead in the investigation.

“In the course of the investigationnd two workers of a Gwarimpa guest house to the dumping of the body of a man found under the Katampe Bridge, Abuja.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Sanusi, disclosed this on Saturday while briefing journalists at the Command headquarters in Abuja.

Sanusi said the lifeless body was discovered along the Kubwa Expressway by Katampe on August 26, after the deceased had earlier been reported missing by his family.

He said the discovery was initially linked in media reports and public commentary to kidnapping and “one chance” robbery.

“Beyond the media reports, however, there was a family grieving and struggling to understand what had happened to their loved one,” the CP said.

According to him, , we discovered that the deceased’s mobile phone was missing. This became a significant lead in the investigation, and our operatives commenced efforts to track the device and establish its last known location and usage,” he said.

Although the phone had been switched off, investigators traced the deceased’s last known communication to Minvestigative processes are being pursued to determine the full facts of the case,” Sanusi said.

He added that anyone found to have played a role in the death or subsequent concealment and abandonment of the body would face the law.

The Commissioner saidrs Rukayat Muhammed of Garki Area 2, according to the CP.

“Rather than immediately reporting the incident to the Police, the suspect took the deceased’s mobile phone and left the hotel,” the CP said.

He said several hours later, after attempts by the hotel management to contact the occupants of the room failed, the room was accessed and the deceased’s body was found.

According to Sanusi, two members of the hotel management, identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, allegedly removed the body from the room and transported it to the Kubwa Expressway by Katampe, where they dumped it under the bridge.

“Instead of reporting the discovery to the Police, two members of the hotel management identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus subsequently removed the body from the room and transported it to Kubwa expressway by Katampe under the bridge where they dumped it by the roadside,” he said.

The CP, however, stressed that the investigation had not established the exact cause and circumstances of the man’s death.

“The exact cause and circumstances of the deceased’s death still under investigation, other the investigation demonstrated the Command’s resolve not to draw conclusions from the discovery of bodies before establishing the facts surrounding their death

FCTA PRESS RELEASE

I WILL LEAD PRESIDENT TINUBU’S REELECTION CAMPAIGN IN FCT – WIKE

…SAYS ADMINISTRATION’S POSITIVE PERFORMANCE WILL TRANSLATE TO VOTES FOR THE PRESIDENT

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will personally launch and lead the campaign team for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu within the Federal Capital Territory.

The FCT Minister made the declaration on Friday, September 25, 2026, while speaking with journalists following an inspection tour of the ongoing dualisation of Phase II of the Kuje to Gwagwalada road designed to connect the Kuje Area Council directly to Gwagwalada.

The Minister noted that preparations by the political partys’ coalition supporting the President's reelection were fully in place, while both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President were also ready to kickstart the campaign process in the FCT.

According to him, "For us who are supporting Mr. President, we have put all our machinery ready to fully kick start. Very soon, I will launch the campaign team for Mr. President in FCT, and I will lead the campaign for Mr. President in FCT. Thereafter, I will go back to my state and also continue. The party Mr. President belongs to, the APC, has also said it's ready. Mr. President is ready, and you can see the enthusiasm of the people".

Speaking on the ruling party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections in the FCT and the direct impact of governance on residents, the Minister noted that the warm reception and joy demonstrated by residents along the project corridor prove that performance is the most effective political strategy, adding that project delivery serves as the true "rigging" that secures votes.

"This is governance; this is what people are expecting, and this is what will translate to actual votes", the Minister said. "Without this, you can't get any vote. But with this, they will of course not waste time before putting their votes for Mr. President, for Senator Philip Aduda, and the two House of Representatives candidates. So, it’s not what somebody will go and say, 'Oh, there is rigging in the FCT.' The rigging is the project we are doing, and making the people happy".

Inspecting the project handled by Gilmor Engineering, Wike commended the pace of work along the heavily populated axis and assured the contractor that necessary funding would be released to ensure project delivery by December.

"This is my first time getting to this side of the road, and I can see how highly populated this area is. The contractor, Gilmor Engineering, is doing very well", the Minister stated. "We have come to assure them that by the grace of God, funds will be made available to them so that they will be able to meet up by December".

The Minister, while reflecting on the public enthusiasm witnessed during the site visit, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his sustained support for the FCT Administration.

"You can imagine the enthusiasm, the happiness on the faces of the people. That is why we are saying that the whole essence of governance is to make people happy", he noted. "Seeing the enthusiasm that we have had because of the road, I’m very elated to be part of this system, and I wish to thank Mr. President for his support to the FCT Administration, which has been very wonderful. As I said yesterday, people are happy. I don’t know who will come and contest against Mr. President as far as the election in the FCT is concerned".

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has addressed the silence of some former colleagues, friends and associates amid the legal and political challenges he is currently facing, saying he bears no resentment towards those who have chosen not to support him publicly.

In a statement titled *“My Relationships and the Aftermath”*, dated September 23, El-Rufai said he had stood by people and causes he believed in, sometimes at considerable personal cost.

He said his support was motivated by his faith, values and conscience, rather than expectations of gratitude or reciprocity.

El-Rufai acknowledged that some people may speak in his support, while others may remain silent, distance themselves or even deny past relationships.

“Adversity has a way of illuminating relationships,” he said, adding that the experience may lead him to quietly reassess some relationships.

He, however, said he had no regrets and would not seek revenge, leaving ultimate accountability to Almighty Allah.
