QUARRY FELLOWSIS CONVERGENCE AFFLICTED to ILYA OLUMO
A Glance Through the History of the Oldest Kegites Club Convergence in the Ogun Hemisphere
Quarry Fellowsis Convergence
The Quarry Fellowsis Convergence was founded in 1996 with the noble aim of creating a home away from home for karid entities within and beyond the Ogun Hemisphere. The initiative was spearheaded by a host of distinguished Chiefesis and entities, under the able chairmanship of Chief Adeyeye Adegoke Abiodun a.k.a Sango ota ILya Lisabi.
Through the search and discovery by Chief Oladiji Pade ( then SF Pade) and SF Ola the convergence began modestly at SF Adekunle Iya Nuru Ologuro shop at Quarry Road, where it adopted the name “Quarry Fellowsis,” inspired by both the location and the area’s renowned mineral resources.
The first coordinator of the convergence was Grand Patron Michael Adejobi (Mekolo), whose leadership enjoyed immense support from karid entities before, during, and after his tenure.
The growth of the convergence was further nurtured by several pioneering and restructuring members, whose contributions remain invaluable. These includes Grand Patron Aregbesola Babatunde, Late Grand Patron Adesanya aka Katike, Grand Matron Bimbo, Lsf Tunji Banire, Chief George Jare Adanwo of Ilya Ogun, Patron Bode Taiwo, Patron Feyi Adeogun (Fada Feyi), Chief Sango Ota and Chief Pade ( then SF Pade) to mentioned few .
Since inception, fifteen coordinators have led the Quarry Fellowsis Convergence with distinction:
1. CORD – Adejobi Michael (Mekolo)
2. CORD – Banire Tunji
3. CORD – Olabode Taiwo
4. CORD – Shorunke Abiodun
5. CORD – Oyekunle Oyeyinka
6. CORD – Ogunlaja Ayomiku
7. CORD – Adesoye Babatunde
8. CORD – Idowu Dare (Wadada)

11. CORD – Alare Olorunyomi
12. CORD – Famuyiwa Ayomitokewa
13. CORD – Hamzat Kazeem (Oguro)
14. CORD – OluKunle Odunfeso
15. CORD – Olayinka Ajisafe
The convergence took root during the reign of Chief Sango Ota (Ilya Lisabi) and Chief Sotinoye Deji ( Ilya Olumo) and over the years all AB Chiefesis that reigned in Ilya Olumo have contributed progressively towards the upliftment and development of the convergence. Also many Chiefesis and other karid entities have contributed to support its development, among them are Chief Oduntan Sola WHQ,Chief Omomoh Kingsley (Yoboro Fatika),Late Chief Oyeniyi Abiodun (Orija Lisabi) Late Chief Akinsola Abiodun (Werepe) , Chief Obara (Ilya Atiba),LSF Adisa Bola,
Initially, there was a spirited debate among the three Ilyasis in the Abeokuta regarding which Ilya the convergence should be affiliated with. After much deliberation it was unanimously resolved that Ilya Olumo would serve as the parent Ilya ,owing to it's proximity to the convergence and the large numbers of its entities who attended regularly. This major milestone was recorded in the year 2001 during the tenure of Chief Olumuyiwa Omidiji (Abacha Olumo), Chief Isikalu Babajide (Oluomo Fatika) and Chief Adeoye Felix (Larpeh Millennium) when the convergence was formerly affiliated to Ilya Olumo and its regalia formally blessed by Chief Alao Olugbenga (Olufranco ) of World Hq.
Every Sunday remains the traditional tapping day of the convergence. The first accounteress was Sf Iya Nuru, a revered palm wine seller from Ila town. Due to age, she has gracefully passed the mantle to Sf Yetunde Ologuro, who has diligently served for the past four years.
Today, the Quarry Fellowsis Convergence remains vibrant and karid, attracting entities from across Nigeria and beyond. As the saying goes:
“Any entity who visits Abeokuta without stepping into the Quarry Convergence has not yet completed their excursion.”
