Katutura EXPO Trade, Agriculture, Culture & Religous It is equally important to involve churches and faith based organizations in an occasion/event of this magnitude.

Katutura central expo 2011 is an initiative of the Katutura Central Constituency office in consultation with the residence. The Katutura Central Expo 2011 has been envisaged to be for the first week of August 2011 at the Katutura Multipurpose Youth Stadium. the event will compromise of the following activities:
-A trade expo of small & medium enterprises (SME's) in surrounding Katutura
-An a

gricultural show of various livestock breeds
-Traditional and cultural performances by entertaining groups from Katutura
-Religious and faith based activities by such institutions in Katutura

Emphasis on the development of the SME sector in Katutura has been quasi-nonexistent and it was this legacy that necessitated this initiative of staging an expo for the first time targeting SME's in Katutura. This commercial exposition will mainly focus on those formal and informal SME"s within the boundaries of Katutura (Registered or Unregistered). The Katutura Central Expo 2011 aims to serve as a catalyst for reengineering of Katutura business model in order to bring about a positive paradigm shift in the benefits that these micro entrepreneurs within Katutura reap. This initiative is indeed in line with Vision 2030; which aims amongst other socio-economic objectives; is to reduce poverty and create employment and indeed the SME fraternity in katutura has the potential to that effect if appropriate nurtured. Katutura Central Expo will also focus on the agricultural economy, where a mini-agricultural show will take effect during the course of this event. Katutura residence who are engaged in livestock farming will be allowed to showcase their livestock breeds, prices will be awarded to those farmers with the best breeds of livestock according to the different categories. Churches play a fundamental role when it comes to serving as a medium for information dissemination to the general public at inhibit the Katutura community such as HIV/AIDS, alcohol and drug abuse, which inhibit the socio-economic advancement of Katutura Residents. One aspect that defines this event is culture. the slogan of this event is "Unity in diversity". Katutura is known for its various ethnic groups with their various cultures. However, objectivity dictates that if various cultures are united for a common purpose. Katutura Central is constituency in the Katutura suburb of the greater Khomas Region. Katutura central is predominantly a residential (as the entire katutura was designed) area and has a population of over twenty one thousand (21 000) inhabitants. Even though some economic activities are happening in Katutura Central Constituency, the majority of its residence commutes daily to Windhoek City and other suburbs (industrial areas to work. Retail and Small and Medium Enterprises drive the Economy of Katutura Central. However, a lot needs to be done; hence the need for hosting this event is inevitable.
