Personal branding and professionalism; subjective and all the more relevant to my case of developing a work persona, a , if you will. How much does physical appearance and language used online and offline retain relevancy to a game developer in the current era? Had the opportunity to be part of the speakers panel for UNICEF Malaysia’s discussion on child safety and safety by design. Many thanks to members of and for bringing me into the conversation. 🎉

Since earlier this year, I’ve been conducting independent research regarding child safety in digital spaces (including discussions on the RITEC framework itself!), contextualised for Malaysia. Thus, I was excited to share my thoughts on what is happening on the ground to the news media as well. The discussion has been covered by a few places (swipe to the end for snippets of the article from ) — will be sharing more in the coming days as well.

And that’s a wrap! Thank you for having me Singapore!A quick drop in to SG 🇸🇬 for Indie Wavemakers by Eliphant and my first time in the country since 2024. I came back with a different portfolio, a different perspective, and with some different goals as well.

Primary desire to come over was with all this newfound information - what is actually happening on the ground over in the SG scene, and what is the community responding to? Who are the indies and their concerns? What do existing devs have to say about everything? I learned so much from the wonderfully curated event and had a great experience - many thanks to everyone for hearing out my sudden pitches and initiatives and generally being enjoyable to spend time with. Many old friends, many new ones! 💕

No pictures yet but also what a wonderful day to kick off my @/womeningamesasia official ambassadorship! Incredibly excited to continue to work with our regional industry changemakers.

Can’t wait to come back, see you all again soon!

Thank you everyone for coming to this week's by Indie Jam x MAKE WITH FRIENDS 🐼🐱 in collaboration with ECPAT International and womeningamesasia! I had the opportunity to moderate a panel on "Breaking Stereotypes in the Games Industry" with Julieanne Tabilog of and nissie 🐙😾 of , and myself representing OutCrowd. Special thanks to THE MAGIC RAIN as always for hosting and their wonderful work, to Asia Pacific University (APU) for the venue, and to Playing Ground ☻ for additional onsite support.

There was a fruitful discussion what is being done and what can continue to be done to enable positive and diverse change in the games industry, especially through the Southeast Asian lens. This all comes after a fantastic forum session on Gaming for Good the previous day, so we were all brimming with great new insight and the energy of collaboration.

Many things, many feelings! Greatful for it all. On to the next one! 💗

I start this with a very special thank you to for inviting me to be a part of this year - I had the opportunity to not only visit Hong Kong and Shenzhen for the first time, but to speak on a panel and share insight and experience regarding Malaysia's game development communities and ecosystem. This marks my first trip to East Asia as a game developer, and has truly set the bar high for what the experience could be like.

Thank you for the platform to talk about and draw experiences from , , .msia .my, and support from .

Representing Malaysia and Southeast Asian game development - drawing from my experiences working in the larger studio, boutique indie, the academic machine, and community development - comparing and contrasting all of that on a panel with fellow changemakers with their own experiences - felt incredibly amazing. There were great points and conversations had on the panel, and off the mic as well. So many positive takeaways and many great things to take home.
