🥁 A quick throwback to our Djembe Sharing Presentation on 29 May.

After a month of intensive training with Master Olivier Tarpaga, our HANDS Team 1 and Team 2 came together to share what we've been learning — not just rhythms, but a new way of listening, connecting, and expressing ourselves through Djembe Kan.

Throughout the evening, we explored authentic West African rhythms, experimented with cross-cultural collaborations, and discovered how different musical voices can come together in unexpected ways. From the raw energy of Djembe to the beautiful textures of Handpan, Marimba, Electric Guitar, Tabla, and Shigu, it was a night of curiosity, creativity, and rhythm.

There are new milestones after weeks of training.
There are new collaborations among musicians.
There are still imperfections and much to improve.

But most importantly, there is a shared spirit to keep learning, exploring, and growing together.

A huge thank you to everyone who spent their Friday evening with us. Your presence, encouragement, and participation made the night even more meaningful. ❤️

And this is only the beginning.

Master Olivier will continue working closely with HANDS as we journey toward something special for our 30th Anniversary next year. Stay tuned. 🔥

11 years, thousands of miles, and for the FIRST TIME EVER—HANDS is bringing the pulse of South America to Malaysia! 🌴🔥

The connection between HANDS and LA TRIBU began during a European tour in 2025, where a shared passion for tradition and innovation sparked this collaboration. LA TRIBU hailing from Venezuela, was founded in 2014 by Maestro Carlos Molina to celebrate and promote the rich musical traditions of Venezuela, South America, and the Caribbean.

Deeply rooted in Afro-Venezuelan culture, they masterfully blend ancestral rhythms, vibrant energy, and contemporary artistry into performances that connect deeply with audiences across borders. No translation needed—their drums speak a universal language that speaks straight to the heart.

After 11 years of sharing their music around the world, their unstoppable energy is finally coming here. We are incredibly proud to welcome LA TRIBU as the first South American ensemble ever invited to perform at the HANDS International Drumming Festival! This authentic Latin American craze is about to take center stage!

They don’t just play the drums—they start a wild, chaotic riot on the streets. 🥁💥

The connection between HANDS Percussion and Seppuku Pistols began at the 2025 Rainforest World Music Festival, where their electrifying performance sparked this special collaboration. Triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, Seppuku Pistols was formed as a powerful, rhythmic rebellion against deceptive modernization, channeling their cause through the raw, indigenous Edo style. Away from the stage, the members live as local explorers, farmers, and traditional craftsmen—but when they gather with their drums, that pure, primal energy takes over.

There are no boundaries in their performances. No matter your age, race, background, or ideology, they create an infectious space where everyone just wants to go crazy together. Having disrupted streets from New York to Paris, they are finally bringing their legendary energy to Malaysia!

We had an absolute blast at our Beginner Djembe Kan Workshop with Olivier Tarpaga, and what a beautiful afternoon it was.

It’s always a joy seeing everyone — from complete beginners to familiar faces — coming together to explore the heartbeat of West Africa. Teacher Olivier didn’t just teach us the mechanics of Bass, Tone, and Slap; he brought the true spirit of the Djembe to life, reminding us that rhythm is a shared language. And trust us — with his infectious groove and 200% energy, you can’t help but move along with the beat 🔥🥁
