🎼 Popular Meets Classical: music by Astor Piazzolla and George Gershwin 🎼

Mei Lin Hii is an award-winning Malaysian pianist of international acclaim, recognised as Outstanding Woman Pianist following her Rubinstein Award in New York. A top prizewinner at major international competitions, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall and has since performed extensively across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia

Her projects include Sonus Luminus, a light and sound collaboration with lighting designer Jun Ong, and she curates the Troika Sky Dining Real Food and Music Series, partnering with luxury brands such as Dom Pérignon, Hennessy, and Krug.

In 2024, she was featured in Women of Power by Prestige Malaysia.

Louis Ong | Baritone

A graduate of the University of Michigan and Louisiana State University, is a compelling voice on today’s operatic stage. A prizewinner at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (Michigan District, 2018) and First Prize recipient at the 6th Bangkok Opera ASEAN International Singing Competition, he has performed a wide range of leading roles—from Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro to Puccini’s La Bohème and Verdi’s Falstaff. In 2019, he originated the role of Ah Chun in the world premiere of Tony Solitro’s Burial with Utah Opera. Equally at home on the concert stage, Louis has appeared in major performances across Malaysia and Singapore, bringing rich tone and dramatic depth to every stage he graces.

Dr. Bernard Tan | Pianist

A distinguished Malaysian pianist, conductor, and educator, holding a Doctor of Musical Arts in collaborative piano from University of Michigan—the only Malaysian to complete the program under renowned pedagogue Martin Katz. A graduate with distinction from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Bernard has earned numerous awards across art song, opera, and chamber music. He is an active vocal coach with the Veneto Opera Summer School and has worked on international opera productions, most recently serving as conductor for Kuala Lumpur City Opera’s La Bohème. Alongside his vibrant performance career, he is a senior lecturer at the Universiti Teknologi MARA, inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Throwback to an inspiring day of Flute Encounters 2026

From all of us at Pinsim Music, it was our pleasure to host this enriching experience on 11 April, featuring a private masterclass and an engaging artist lecture by renowned flautist Paul Edmund-Davies.

Seeing flautists of all ages come together to learn, share, and make music was truly meaningful, especially the joy and enthusiasm from the young participants.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kane Music and Mr. Adam Ng for choosing Kingwood Theater Pinsim Music - 品森 and for the wonderful collaboration. Grateful for these memorable moments and looking forward to more!
