Project Room Art Gallery Experimental art space in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia We host talks, special events and workshops.

Small but perfectly formed, our brand new spanking flagship at Ampang Jaya houses new works from independent artists; as well as the gallery’s usual timetable of solo and group exhibitions which features installations, performances and screenings by established and emerging artists. With exhibitions ranging from the brilliant to the bizarre, they are always thought-provoking and often represent ar

tist who challenges the status quo. We are also a venue for the sale of affordable art: limited edition prints, books, originals, small sculptures and other objects. We aim to use culture and creativity as a catalyst for positive change. Look out for these exciting collecting opportunities as they appear throughout the year.

Except from SERIOUS DOODLES by M. Stephen Doherty

Even in boring meetings and phone calls, artist Thomas S. Buechner turned idle moments into art. His quick doodles — drawn on agendas and scraps of paper — show how observation and imagination never switch off for an artist.

Trained as a painter, he sketched the people around him with humor, exaggeration, and sharp insight. Eventually, people avoided sitting across from him because they knew they’d end up in his sketch!

Buechner believed doodling keeps the artist’s eye alive — studying proportion, character, and expression in real time.

After decades of portrait painting, his spontaneous doodles became a natural extension of his craft: everyday moments transformed into art.
