Keat Hwa Secondary School Marching Band, more commonly known as Keat Hwa Marching Band (KHMB), comprises hundreds of members whose age falls within the range of 13 to 19. Founded in the year 1962, the band evolved and improved in members’ qualities and abilities, infrastructures and varieties of instruments. The band is now made up of six different sections, which are woodwind, brass, low brass, p

ercussion, pitched percussion and colour guard. Tang Chia Hoe and a team of dedicated coaches, the band created profound achievements in both national and international band competitions and performances all these years. The band is able to perform as marching band and concert band, and KHMB was invited to perform in Shanghai Spring International Music Festival in 2011 and 2015. The band emerged as first runner-up in Street Parade of KLIYMBC 2015 and was also awarded Silver Medal in Thailand International Band Festival 2013. In 2016, the band was crowned World Champion in the World Championship of Marching Show Bands Competition. KHMB is continuously growing by focusing on various styles of music, and based on teamwork by emphasizing on “One Band, One Heart” concept.
