Outdoor/indoor courtyards w some amazing altars to the dead bedecked with marigolds, (also used for Diwali - coincidentally at same time, the Hindu festival for Kali with her necklace of skulls?) - though Dia de los Muertos “dates back thousands of years with the Aztec, Toltec & Nahua people.” I am told its strong scent allows the dead to find their way back.
After the streets emptied and festival was over, sweepers with giant broomsticks swept up the dead flowers. It would be nice to replace motorised leaf-blowers with broomstick bots.
